Photo identification for voting?

do you think law should obligate voters to show photo identification before voting?

must it contain proof of citizenship? or let non citizens vote too. like a driver license photo?

relevant NOW elections in several states for local government and judges etc.

I don't understand American's obsession with voter Id. It's pretty standard in the EU & Britain. The only time I ever voted I had to show id. It was no big deal. I mean even now I have to show id to get into a club or order a round of alcohol. What else? I needed id to open a bank account. I needed id to buy a car. I needed id to get on an airplane. I needed id to get married. I needed id to buy a gun. I needed id to rent a hotel room. I needed id recently to buy a cell phone which surprised me. I needed id to pick up a prescription recently. I needed id to donate blood recently.

I'm also guessing that you need id to get welfare, for a hunting or fishing licence and to buy a house.

my grandmother said her drivers license didn't have a photo on it, it was just a piece of paper and i asked how did they know it was your license? and she didn't know

the one thing I think is that... voting ID's and voting processes should be ALL the same and only one, and all across the country, in every single state

Far as I know, there already IS such a law and only the loony lefties wanna get rid of it because, without cheating in other ways, they can't win an election.

Yes I think photo ID should be required to vote as well as proof of registration and citizenship.
