Are you insulted that some manufacturers feel they have to make the product (s) they sell, "idiot proof"?

Example: Lawn mowers with a notice in the cowling of the mower: "DO NOT PUT HANDS OR FEET UNDER MOWER WHILE MOTOR IS RUNNING" ?

My Tesla is silent, and I know it is silent, by design... so I know that pedestrians will not hear the car behind them in a parking lot or other pedestrian walk ways, so, when I'm in that circumstance, I drive slow enough to stop in 1/10th of a millisecond or I stop immediately until the pedestrian realizes there is a vehicle behind him/her/them. I thought most Tesla owners would know that immediately?

Now the FED has mandated that Tesla put a device on the car the emits a low frequency hum when the car is below a certain speed i. e. parking lots etc.

That hum is really irritating to hear, and how can a driver not know the ped cannot hear his car and drive accordingly?

Do you know of similar instances of 'idiot proofing"

Lets hear them.
