What do you think about activists throwing soup at Van Gogh's works?

This is an old incident. A bold message was intended to be given with this move. I don't know how much this behavior might have affected people. We have to suffer for the damage done to nature. This is what was meant. I realized this once again. Activists didn't want to damage the works anyway and no damage occurred to the works.

Those people do nothing but hurt their own cause. Most likely even other groups who are on their side distance themselves. They have probably alienated people on their side, and pushed their opponents even further away.

This is NOT the way to draw attention to something. Especially when their cause is something everyone already knows about. Do they think this action will suddenly make people wake up and say, "Climate change? What's that? I never heard of it.". Do they think it will make even one legislator anywhere in the world change their vote on something?

There needs to be special laws for this type of thing. Those people should be in prison the rest of their lives.

That was an amazing PR move. For the price of 1 soup and basically a rag to wipe it off the protected front of the painting they managed to secure front page news for a hilariously long time. From a cost-return point of view it was beautiful and not to mention the people most upset were the ultra rich which they wanted to insult in the first place.

Van Gogh is awesome. Normally I would be very negative about this but the world is ot moving fast enough on climate change.

Frankly, I don’t know if it can be stopped as the Third World gets more money and spends on things that increase global warming while our leaders and celebrities fly in private jets giving it lip service.

similar protest recently blocking a road got people gun down by a lawyer. So this painting one was fairly harmless, no one got hurt and talking about it year later.

So the painting was better to be honest.
