Basically, the act seems traditionally gentlemanly but it implies inferiority.

No judgment here. If you support it, I just want to let you know that there is this new term called benevolent sexism.

Ex. of Benevolent sexism:

A man holds a door for a woman

If a woman looks cold, a man offers her his jacket

A man sacrifices himself to save and protect a woman

What you described is considerate, thoughtful and respectful. Okay, and protective. It used be called gentlemanly. A guy can do that and not be sexist or patriarchal. It doesn't necessarily mean that he thinks she is helpless or inferior.

It's the lady-gentleman game that men and women play. She acts feminine and he acts masculine. It makes both sexes more attractive to each other. It's flattering to both.

A woman who objects that is anti-feminine. She is not a lady.
A guy who thinks doing that is "simping" is a clod.
