It's little things like this that pushed me to leave the Democratic party. If it were Republican's do this, Democrats would be up in arms screaming how Republicans hate Democracy. At this point neither party gives a f*** about Democracy, only care about ensuring the pro establishment gets elected.

Here in Missouri, for 2024, the GOP is not having a primary either (but the DEMs are). In Missouri, the GOP is doing a caucus which is different. In a primary, your vote is anonymous. In a caucus, who you support is evident to all.
So, is the GOP "undemocratic" in Missouri?
I don't think so.
Besides, learn your history. Primaries didn't even exist decades ago! Party bosses chose who the candidates were going to be and their decision was final.

+1 yI'm more concerned with why I'm just hearing about this NOW, given that I registered as a Democrat here precisely because this state lacks open primaries. I probably shouldn't be surprised; they've thrown in behind Joe Biden, a man whose actions are worse than Trump's rhetoric.
Future generations are going to think so poorly of us...

Asker+1 yI kind of knew this would happen at some point, seeing as how when Kennedy was still in the primary, DNC changed primary rules to where if any candidate actively campaigned in Iowa and New Hampshire their votes wouldn't count and and they'd receive no delegates. With Hew Hampshire, DNC got to the point they were ready to launch write in campaign to get voters to write in Joe Biden so he could win with out breaking the rules. DNC done this in 2016, rigged their primary for a candidate no one wanted, then complained later when they lost. Can't wait to FU the DNC next year when I vote for Kennedy, who at this point is the only 3rd party candidate who, if he's able to get on the ballot in all 50 states has a shot at winning.

Yeah, I guess Washington thinks poorly of us, too. Stupid party system.

+1 ythe entire "democrats vs republicans" thing is utter bullshit meant to be a massive imaginary and meaningless deviding line in the population with the sole purpose to throw people a red herring, they can get angry about. congratulations. you fell for it.
america is not a democracy. it is an indirect polutocratic oligarchy with democratically voted representants that don't change anything about the prevailing power structure behind them.and the reason it has been like that for hundreds of years is cause people rather argue and fight with the guy next door instead of uniting to fight the bigger enemy which is the government. see through their lies and call them out on their bullshit. i'm not anti democratic or anti government. democracy is great in theory and without govermnent, society doesn't work. but the usa isn't democracy. it should be one some day. that's what you gotta fight for.

+1 yBoth parties control their own primary process in many states, and many state parties will not run a primary unless there is a serious challenger when there is an incumbent. This is nothing new. In many states the party has to pay for the cost of the primary and/or caucus, so if there isn't a serious challenger that has a chance at changing the outcome, why go to the work and expense of running a primary. Again, both parties do this.

Asker+1 yOver 60% of Democratic voters want someone other then Biden, and there are serious challengers, but the DNC doesn't care, they are rigging the Primary just like they did in 2016. Biden's most serious challenger and biggest threat, Kennedy, was forced to drop out and run as an independent as a result of the DNC constantly changing primary rules to ensure only Biden wins.
Asker+1 y@goaded "most of his family" That's a lie, not most, only some of his family have opposed him. He's not a conspiracy nut, you Blue-MAGA's just like to throw labels at everything you disagree with. I 100% support Kennedy's position on vaccines need to be better tested and not mandated. Elderly father is currently dealing with heart issues directly related to receiving the Covid vaccine, so every pro-vaccine mandator can F off.
- +1 y
Was your "Elderly father" forced to take the vaccine? When people started getting vaccinated, the beginning of 2021, around 3,000 Americans were dying every day of covid. About 190,000 Americans died between the beginning of December 2020 and the end of January 2021 (294,000 - 475,000). How many more months of testing (there had already been months and tens of thousands of tests) do you think there should have been?
It is still very safe, and a great deal safer than catching the virus without it.
And he's not only against the covid vaccine, but vaccines that have saved countless lives over decades.
How many close family saying in public that they're wrong do you think a presidential candidate should have? Who knows them better?
Asker+1 y@goaded Basically yes, he was forced/pressured into getting the vaccine and now highly regrets. My cousin got covid and almost died and that was after being vaxxed and boosted. Had Dr. been allowed to try different treatments in the beginning, not as many people would have died, but nope couldn't let Dr's. find any treatment that works, other wise Big Pharma wouldn't have been able to get emergency use authorization for their experimental vaccines. Sure, we can 100% trust Big Pharma not to make vaccines that are contaminated with no need for vaccine safety.
- +1 y
You have no idea what would have happened to them had they not had the vaccine, do you? There were no efficacious "different treatments" back then, and even now there are only three approved ones and they all have potentially serious side effects.
aspr.hhs.gov/.../...tment-Options-for-COVID19.aspx
Asker+1 y@goaded I know exactly what would have happened, things would have turned out the same. Vaccine did nothing to protect them, only thing that helped was was going to the ER and getting anti-covid medication. Oral medication and not the vaccine kept them from dying, ER Dr. even said so. There where no "approved" treatments and only a few approved treatments now, only to benefit Big Pharma, can't have covid patients being treated with cheap generic drugs. Even just treating COVID symptoms would have been 10x better then wasting time on a experimental vaccine, that did nothing to keep people from getting COVID.
- +1 y
No, you don't. The numbers of deaths from vaccinated people were way lower than unvaccinated. That's simply fact.
Maybe in America expensive treatments can beat out cheap but effective alternatives, but not in the cash-strapped NHS in the UK. Why do you think they haven't found any magic bullets?
(By the way, you only talked about your cousin getting covid, not your father; did they both get it?)
Asker+1 y@goaded Both father and Cousin got covid, and both got covid after being vaccinated. I myself avoided getting covid for 2 years, got the COVID vaccine, a 2 months later got covid, everyone in my family has gotten covid after being vaccinated, surprise surprise, my brother is still un-vaxed and still hasn't gotten covid.

Asker+1 yDemocrats know Biden is a weak candidate which is why they are doing everything they can to protect him during the Primaries. It's also the reason Democrats are attacking Trump with all these different lawsuits, they need him to look as bad as possible so Biden is viewed as the lesser of two evils.
- +1 y
I can't argue with that (although, who are you talking about?).
In a way, the cases against Trump hurt the Democrats because if he's taken out of the race, sane Republicans might well go back to voting Republican in the mistaken belief that the nominee won't implement Project 2025, which would be a disaster. Indicting him was still the right thing to do.
When was the last time you heard Republicans claim to be the "party of law and order"? Now THAT was hypocrisy!
5.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes, but your "neither party" claim is bullshit. You never get a dictator for one day. The Heritage Foundation has organised a massive take-over of the federal government, for Trump (or any other Republican president) to take advantage of, and they've learned from their mistakes that stopped them from stealing the presidency in 2020/2021.
No Democratic nominee is facing federal charges for interfering with an election. Multiple Trump co-conspirators have already pleaded guilty.

Asker+1 yMy "neither party" claim is not bull shit, DNC rigging the 2024 Presidential Primary along with the 2016 and 2020 Presidential Primary proves DNC doesn't give a shit about Democracy. Hard to not face federal charges when your in charge of the DOJ. I don't give a rats a$$ what Blue-MAGA's or Red-MAGA's think, both parties and their front runners are corrupt liars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p94O1wp19g
Asker+1 y"one guy fiddling his party's nomination for president", yea because Biden refuses to debate his Primary opponents while DNC keeps changing primary rules to ensure Biden is the Democratic nominee, same thing happened in 2016.
- +1 y
There's almost never a party primary against an incumbent president, it's not like it's something new. I feel that you're ignoring the whole bit where Trump has spent years diminishing democracy and refused to accept the result of the election he lost. The two things are as similar as a mountain and a feather.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIts been obvious for decades the Democratic party elite does not care about democracy. If they did they wouldn't rig their primaries, give unfair advantages to their favored candidates while screwing over others like Bernie.
Anyone who's seen enough elections knows they also don't tend to accuse anyone of anything they are not themselfs doing. They seem to lack creativity and knowledge of the other side, and just assume because they are doing it others must be doing it too.00 Reply26.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes, but it never stopped them before. The democrats hippocricy is of epic proportion. Look at what happened on Martha's Vineyard.

Wouldn't they be against democracy if they claim to fight for the minorities?
