This is an extreme case but it happens regularly in everyday situations. It's like these people get some of pleasure from getting people in trouble.

Because ideally that’s what people should do in society. A lot of people have turned their heads to criminals breaking laws. Than people wonder why society is getting so bad. Because it’s become a bad thing to “snitch” when you know something illegally has been committed. You know as well as I do if a man was doing what this lady was he’d be reported right away. I think because it’s a female you’re more soft on her, almost sexually arousing to you. Equality is what a lot of people wanted, especially women. Imagine if your mother or father was killed, stabbed by someone. If there were witnesses wouldn’t you want them to “snitch” to bring justice to your mom or your dad? I hope that one day you never encounter a situation where you need witnesses to “snitch,” because the way the world is going everyone is going to just turn a blind eye one day. Right now in Phoenix we have an ongoing case of about 10 kids, maybe more beating up another teenager. He does. No one has stepped up to report it even though there were numerous witnesses at this party. What if that was your brother? Sure what the lady did wasn’t as extreme as this but it’s still illegal.

That’s exactly my point. People don’t want to get involved. They should step in as well, preferably kick the dudes ass but at the least call the cops if for whatever reason they feel they couldn’t fight this dude off. Yes I get some things aren’t as big as rape or murder but when society is turning its eye to simple thing, simple things, a lot of them are going to turn their eyes to even worse things. Hol up. If i was at the beach with my kids, the last thing I want to see is some woman masturbating. That being said, the cops should have talked to her, discussed what was going on and let her go. There’s no need to arrest someone and make a big scene.

She obviously had mental problems going on way before this.

I don't disagree with you on the first part, but I think even calling the cops was too extreme. They should've just covered their kids' eyes and walked away. That being said, since they WERE called, I agree that they overreacted and made a huge scene. It wasn't the crime of the century, but Americans, especially conservative Southerners are known for being incredibly prudish and our laws effect that, except when it comes to fags and drag queens apparently.
She shouldn't have gotten more than a ticket and her arrest shouldn't have been plastered all over the internet like that. But even if it was, I don't know why Americans overreact so much when it comes to sexual stuff. If this happened in Europe, no one would shame a girl over masturbating, especially since people do naughty stuff on the beach all the time.
The most fucked up part is, the girl was shamed while the people who snitched on her and are responsible for her death, get to live in annominity.
