Trump spent 85 billion dollars replenishing our jets, equipment - everything. And Trump had a plan how to get it back to America. However, Biden chose to leave it all in Afghanistan for our enemies. What was left in Afghanistan cost more to transport home than to leave. The US military often just leaves equipment behind.

Take Ukraine for instance. Everything we are giving to Ukraine on the promise of repayment is stuff the us military is replacing with newer modern equipment.

@MikeFrench us military does it all the time. Look at the weapons left in Iraq or the weapons given to ISIS by the Obama administration. All mostly old or outdated equipment that the US military wanted rid of, there's so much of that equipment left over from the war on terror that they were giving it away to police forces in the us.
I would also say that the US government wanted the Taliban to have that military equipment to destabilise the region after all Afghanistan's neighbors are Iran, Pakistan and China and Afghanistan is no longer an area of intrest to the US so doesn't fear these weapons being used against them.
