I don't know man, yearly tests sounds like a lot. I mean I was barely even passing my regular classes as it is in school lol. Having another test to study for every year would be stressful!
Plus some people aren't great test takers you know? Doesn't necessarily mean they're not good Americans. And our country's got folks from all over, so English might not be their first language and tests could be extra hard.
I guess it depends what's on the tests too. If it's just basic history and government stuff that's one thing. But if they start asking super specific policy questions or something, that wouldn't really prove who's "best and brightest."
And who even decides the right answers? Could get political fast. Next thing you know they're failing people who don't support certain laws or whatever.
Seems like it could cause a lot of problems and hassle for folks to have to keep proving they deserve to be citizens. I'd rather they just focus on teaching civics in school so we all know how the country works.
Not sure constant testing is really fair or necessary. But that's just my take on it man, who knows maybe it would work out.
I don't know dude, even like a checkup test seems kinda iffy to me. Like as long as people are working hard and paying their taxes and not breaking any big laws, doesn't that show they're contributing? School is hard enough already without adding more tests.
And how would you know if the tests were totally fair? Some people just aren't great test takers, even if they're really smart. Seems like it could be used to mess with people or discriminate. Like what if the questions were about stuff only certain groups would know?
I get wanting Americans to do their best, but people show that in different ways. Not everything is about tests, you know? As long as the country is running okay and most folks are doing alright, I don't think we need to be checking up on each other all the time with exams. That's a lot of pressure! Maybe just encourage people to learn new stuff on their own time if they want.
Hmm yeah I could see how some people might not be keeping up their end if they ain't in school or working. That's probably not good for the country if citizens ain't contributing somehow. I guess a checkup could help make sure everyone is staying on track and doing what they're supposed to. It would have to be fair though and give people chances to improve if they need help. Maybe some people just fell on hard times too, so the tests gotta account for that. And definitely shouldn't be too hard like I said before. As long as it's about helping people stay on the right path and not just finding excuses to kick folks out, a check every now and then don't sound that bad I guess. Gotta keep America strong by making sure we're all pulling our weight, right?
Ah okay, I get what you're saying now. That does make sense - it's a real shame folks gotta risk their lives just to come here. If there was a better way for them to earn citizenship without all that dangerous stuff at the border, that could help save lives for sure. And like you said, more good people is only good for the economy too. As long as they go through whatever process properly and it's not too crazy hard, I don't see why we shouldn't let folks in if we've got space. Could be a win-win if it means less dying and more workers at the same time, right? Guess there's no easy answers but talking it through different ideas ain't a bad thing. Thanks for explaining where you're coming from, man.
How does the country support the rest of the world emptying into the us? If you want an example look at Europe, they've basically open boarders and they can't cope. Sweden has huge no go zones. You would be turning the us into Mexico where the middle class have to lock themselves in gated communities. We've enough ghettos in the us like la and San Francisco
@Drewtate Europe has a very strong economy and solid currency exchange in the euro. I’m pretty sure every Brit regrets their Brexit vote but are too proud to admit it.
Immigration has minimal negative effect and net positive economic affects. It’s when immigrants stop trying to go to your country is when you should worry.
Go to Europe and see the muslim ghettos for yourself full of crime and unemployment.
Britain has continued on despite brexit and still have the illegal immigrant problem. Seemingly mainland Europe is so bad that illegals will risk a channel crossing in the middle of winter to get to Britain, why?
No but we should ensure only immigrants that come legally can stay and illegals can't work by jailing those who employ them.
@oddbemeSo now you care if they make it harder for immigrants to cross a border? Perhaps Mayor Adams should not have limited when immigrants who wish to come to NYC by buss, are allowed to arrive by buss and that Democratic ahole should have focused on worse and more pressing matters compared to imigrants comming and boosting tge echonomy in NYC

How would that work with all the illegals Biden let in with no knowledge where they all are now? Who is going to deal with that?
Watch your name calling there. Have I ever called you a name before? So be nice or I will troll you forever. 🤩 and a day.
You get excused this time. Stand in the corner for 5 minutes.
No, but you should have to take a test to able to vote.

No, but I understand I understand you want to get ridd of the type of SJWs you find on websites like Resetera or RPGnet. Its not like the rest of the world wants them either, so America can keep them.
No, that would be evil and immoral.
What would happen if someone refuses to take this test?
You lefties would fail miserably. I'm all for it. Can we boot you up to Canada?
Yearly the infrastructure would collapse
Make it say ever 5-10 years like the census
30.5million every month is a lot given how stretched the government is already
