Do white people deserve a whites only country?

As silly as it sounds, multiple people on this site, and on Instagram, have been telling me this week that whites are entitled to a "whites only" country. No one with any mixed heritage allowed either.

Personally, I think it's a strange demand since white isn't an ethnicity. Also, there are already European countries with 98-99% "white populations they could move to, but they refuse.

What are your thoughts on their demands?

Should there be a whites only country?

Where would it go?

What would happen with the people already there?

Would people have to take a DNA test to enter?

What ethnicities fall under white? What are the deciding factors?

Interestingly, again we have a few "yes" volunteers. But, still no explanation on why they don't just move to one of the countries that's already nearly 100% populated by Europeans or how they think this is supposed to work exactly. 😆 Inquiring minds want to know...

Deserve? I've never heard any white person I know even suggest this, so no idea where it comes from. If they really want that, maybe go to Russia... it's very white.

to some extent is... they want a set of values and morales and laws that are Judeo Christian/european in roots. They want the laws adhered to, but it's really the law of responsibility and regard for property rights. Note, it's not a muslim or chinese country. That was the foundation... it wasn't Native Americans and it wasn't chinese or Africans or India or Japanese. That's not white, it's values that all can hold... freedom and opportunity.

That's why when so many white people I know see someone, for example... Candace Owens... they like her, like what she says. I'd bet a lot of Black people would say... she's not black! The issue is really how one thinks and their values... I guess... their culture.

By introducing so many variations across the globe of ideas, it's started to shift away... and I think that... troubles some people deeply... the ones for whom... that's what they thought it was, and what their ancestors fought and paid the price for.

Plenty of non white people built the country and paid their dues to be here, no problemo.

Alright. Maybe I was too quick to the punch but it is a serious socio-political problem so it does "trigger" me to see it. And of course we aren't untouchable, but I have never even seen that suggested in today's climate. There's plenty of "black people can't be racist" stuff out there, but it's rather that white people can be blamed for anything that governs discourse right now.

And I wouldn't be so quick to say people don't need protection. When white students are blocked from entering campus by a wall of minority students obstructing the way, or white conservative students being attacked in the hallways (and yes both these things actually happened a few years back) then yes we need to take action.

I'm not fanatically pro-west either, but am I a fan of it and glad to be in it? Certainly. And the world we know today *has* been founded by western ideals, inventions, ideologies and victories in war. That's very clear if you take even a cursory look at history. The west has many issues today and isn't perfect, neither is any place. But people who see nothing but wrongs and ascribe every evil in the world to "us" are just self-haters, and that's just pathetic.

It's not difficult to stand up for wrongs committed against anyone regardless of color. I find that the real self hatred is to deny what has actually been done by people of European heritage... Black people can absolutely be racist. The reason why it gets less attention is because they don't have the power to enact racist policies at a systemic level to go after all "whites". It's generally at an smaller individual level. I grew up being attacked for being mostly white. Which is ironic since they never touched the fully white kids. I was a "safe" target being mixed. But, white communities are bad as well.

I moved to a state that was 90% white at the time to l get away from racist blacks in my community. Constant racist comments. Everyone just took their racist ideas as fact and would even openly teach them to each other. All blacks are rappers, all blacks have bad teeth, that's why their teeth are covered in gold, all blacks are violent criminal gangster animals, blacks can't be trusted, blacks can't succeed. The N-word used constantly. Even the school bus driver telling racist jokes with the kids while driving them to and from school. Couldn't wear "black" hair styles. It took a white child suing the schools over that one for it to go away. Police constantly grabbing my teenaged brother on the streets to search him. It's ridiculous.

@Forceinhand Both sides have guilty parties. Anyone enabling or ignoring it is also guilty to some degree in my book, because the are hurting rather than helping.

My grandfather was in Minnesota when the Civil Rights movement started. He has the only excuse in the book for not helping. He didn't know. He said the first racism he saw was when the attacks on a Civil Rights protestors made it onto TV. When he joined the military they did the same thing with integrating blacks troops that they did recently with adding LGBTQ openly. They asked the current troops if they would be okay with it and if it would change morale. He said that only 2-3 men in his shop vehemently objected to integration. The rest said they'd welcome it. He didn't feel attacked because they wanted to same jobs and the same rights. He helped in his own way.

Everyone now just screams about "me me me" "my side my side my side". There shouldn't be a side. Everyone should be treated respectfully, given equalized opportunities, and taken care of. Because, people still aren't. That's the real issue. Anyone being mistreated will end up pushing back. It's a nasty cycle that's only ended when people push back on the offenders rather than the victims.

I've found that the best way to reduce racism is to make sure we aren't participating in it ourselves and, as a group, to crack down on and push out anyone who's behaving in a racist way. They generally either change their behavior to fit in or leave.

It's like saying the Holocaust doesn't matter because other genocides have happened. But, no other genocides compare with how massive, long, and cruel this event was. That's why we talk about it today.

@Forceinhand None of those rulers or common people had seen or experienced what happened to slaves in the Americas firsthand. The slavery they knew in Africa was incredibly different. You can see current examples in Mauritania. None of the extreme torture or murders, none of that. They were considered lesser family. They had no idea that half of shipped slaves died before even reaching the Americans and were dumped over board or that the life expectancy after arrival was only 5 years. No one was going back and telling them these things.

I guess we all take some shrapnel, but mine is mostly from police, or other white people treating me badly because I didn’t act enough like what their idea of a white guy should be. A lot of white people have treated me terribly for absolutely no good reason. Sorry I like Mobb Deep, fuckin’ CHILL🙄 Best part is, I sat with the black dudes in the cafeteria at me high school, and these white kids would stroll by trying to be friendly with the black guys because I think they viewed them as cool, and I’m just sitting there like “Hey ‘Connor’ or whatever your fuck-ass suburban whiteboy name is, why don’t you tell these guys what you said to me when you caught me by myself back in second period?” So on top of being assholes, they were huge pussies to boot. These guys were allegedly “normal” white kids, and I’ve seen the worst they have to offer…or actually maybe not, imagine how they are towards NON-WHITE people, even just in their thoughts and deeds if not their obvious actions.

I do fine, I’m friends with a good deal of them. It’s THEM thinking I’m weird because I listen to music from the Griselda crew, I’m just living life. I bring a speaker to the locker room and I just have to make a read on the room to decide what to play. When I’ve played my own stuff when no one is there, but then someone comes in, they look at ME funny, not vice versa. I am unapologetically myself at all times. It’s other people who sometimes take issue with me at worst, or misunderstand me at best. No grudge here, I take everyone in the same. What they do after that is up to them, and I just honestly see whatever they show me.

I feel 50 years ago, this would have been feasible, but not anymore.

Hypothetically speaking, if I was to make my own country, my rule would be, ANYONE who is pro-White and believes we're the master race would be allowed to live there. However, my government would be exclusively White people. Aside from that, every citizen would have the same rights, they just wouldn't be allowed to hold government positions, at least not high ones.

I don't think a country needs to be exclusively White, but Whites should make up the majority, or at the very least hold all the political power. Take South Africa for example. I'm fine with South Africa being multi-racial, but I think the government should've stayed White.

So to me, it's more important that the government is White and that Whites, even if they're the minority, hold all the power. I see no benefit to having a White only population, when all it takes is a White only government. So I'd much rather just have a White government and just segregate the different races into their own enclaves. They'd all be free to work study and travel wherever they wish, but I wouldn't have them living with other races.

It’s theoretically possible even under the US’s current setup. If you live in gated communities, you can discriminate to your heart’s content. The Fair Housing Act doesn’t hold sway in privately owned communities that are not open to the public.

A few hundred years ago, countries segregating by race was normal. People didn’t think twice about it nor think it unethical because it incurred added risk to your survival if you weren’t evolved to an environment suited to your characteristics. It was so widely accepted the concept of race wasn’t coined, it just was. The overwhelming majority of people died at roughly the same latitudes they were born and raised.

You’re restating a point I brought up in response to @Dargil “Diversity emerges from homogenized populations if given the choice to association.” Like it’s futile to stop people from wanting to segregate or desegregate because of practical realities at an individual level. It historically hasn’t generally panned out well when whole governments decide to make sweeping bans based on those characteristics because it infringes on the rights of citizens to freely associate with those different from them as well.

On intercontinental trade, why do you suppose it took all those things TO engage in it? It wasn’t just the distance, it was the destination as well. Locals and traders not only had knowledge of how to survive in their environment, local’s bodies also were slightly adapted for it, both of which are valuable commodities in that setting.

Gated communities that are private homeowners associations/clubs do it because they can discriminate membership based on those characteristics, and they can sell only to members. They bottom out the market for their transactions when they do that potentially leaving a ton of money on the table via opportunity cost. The law limits to how large they can get. It’s like they’re waiving their right to the federally protected public market. So if there are disputes within their community, the courts may not care or they’re afforded less protection.

There are senior citizen communities/facilities which openly discriminate towards the public based on age, it’s allowed in the FHA, so is religion.

I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s better than state mandated segregation or desegregation. The law is also in favor of desegregation, so you’re arguing against the minority. What I like about US law is there are democratically instilled basic human rights laws that take precedent. Like it or not, those communities are living under Federal protection by proximity. It’s also quite costly to engage in such activity. The opportunity costs are potentially through the roof.

There are still a few US states with "one-drop" laws on the books; such laws define a person as black if they have even "one drop" of black blood in them. Putting aside the question of transfusions, that excludes exactly everyone, because it wasn't that long ago that EVERY human was black. A Whites-only country implies that I would have a lot more in common with other White people than I would with other ethnicities. Fewer things can be further from the truth for me as I find that I have a substantial amount in common with many non-Whites than I do with many other Whites. Why is that? I meant because a DNA test doesn't test for white DNA. It tests for actual ethnic groups such as Swedish or Bulgarian. Much like most Europeans would be offended to some degree if someone claimed they were the same as an entirely different ethnic group in Europe. There are pretty massive differences. You know, there are some good things from Trump but he is his own worst enemy when it comes to promoting his agenda other than self-aggrandizement.

For instance, Greenland which Trump wanted to buy from Denmark. It was unnecessary because Denmark is a NATO member, but, from a strategic perspective, American control and further defense investment in Greenland will be needed to help fortify the GIUK line and northern frontier and not let the Russians monopolize the Arctic given their enormous Arctic shoreline.

Also, while many also felt this was unnecessary, I agree with Trump's creation of the Space Force. It may sound a bit ridiculous, but I worked in that industry (space and defense) including having to walk across the street to go to Los Angeles Air Force Base (now Space Force Base). Having unified space-related activities is better.

But Trump was too crass about Greenland and didn't really make the case. Same about Space Force. If he behaved like a president, let alone a functional adult, he could have made the case and seemed like less of a buffoon. (Worse with Greenland, Trump's a realtor so people think this is Trump being Trump buying up more real estate.) His cabinet didn't help either because they may not have understood his thinking and he was also likely a bit ignorant.

Trump's mental and emotional handicaps are what are blockading him from actually being a decent president.

It's true of anywhere which is not a state. The Presidential election is really a set of state elections for all states. So, if you live in DC, PR, US Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, etc., then you cannot vote in the Presidential election ALTHOUGH the parties may hold primaries there.

As for Puerto Rico denizens not paying Federal income taxes, that's only partially correct. They do not pay any Federal income taxes on money earned in Puerto Rico. However, if anyone there receives income from sources outside of Puerto Rico, then they are required to file Federal income taxes on that income.

Besides "No taxation without representation!"

If you want them to pay Federal taxes, then they need to have representation in Congress and be able to participate in the Presidential election. That's the American way.

As for PR being a drain on "real American" taxpayers, they may be but that's because the US has chosen so by not having PR be a state. Furthermore, other states are likely to be more of a drain than PR.

That's not quite so. More PRicans want the island to become a state than not.
Furthermore, because Puerto Ricans are denied the rights of mainland citizens, many move to the mainland so they can live in states where they get better benefits and that number has been steadily increasing which is why Puerto Ricans are the #2 Hispanic minority in the US after Mexicans.

2. Unspoken, it's racism because PR is a predominantly Spanish-language place... and, of course, they're no "real" (White) Americans. With a state (PR) being Spanish-speaking, that is problematic with the uneducated base who are obsessed with English becoming the official language of the US. In other words, it plays into their fears that America in not a White country anymore.
3. Then they lose an issue that they can bitch about thus energizing voters. They know that they shouldn't actually solve problems because solving problems in the way you want de-energizes your voters and re-energizes the other side's voters... This is exactly why the GOP is having some problems in red states because women are pissed-off over Roe v. Wade being overturned.

Ironically, Hispanics are not hard-core DEM voters. If they were, Trump would have lost FL in 2016 and Hilary would have been President. Why? Because the same reasons that non-Hispanic Americans get pissed: These folks came in or are descended from immigrants who came legally and they don't like the idea of others "cheating" in a sense.

Even more ironic is that Puerto Ricans in PR are more conservative than those living in the mainland US; this is because PR is predominantly devout Catholics (another problem for many in the GOP base), so more island PRicans are against same-sex marriage and are anti-abortion than mainland PRicans.
