How are the unions at your country? Are you in one?

If you didn't hear! Tesla CEO (Elon Musk) have been battling against the Swedish union known as IF Metal for collective bargaining for workers.

This has been on since October and frankly ! Musk is losing against the Swedish Labour laws.

Another example from another American giant for fast food chains known as McDonald's.

They had similar problems here in Sweden and now, you can have a nice career working at McDonald's, it pays well, 5 weeks paid salary as a semester/vacation, insurance, management courses for workers and so on.

So what are unions like in your country? Are you in one?

Here's the magical thing about unions...

Unions don't work if everyone can be in a union. FACT.

If everyone can be in an exclusive club, then how "exclusive" is the club?

It is an exclusive club! For the workers. In unions ! The employer in not in the club. And! There things the union fight for for all worker, even the none members and there is things where they help members only.

Why not just raise minimum wage to $100 per hour?

What am i missing? Let's say on Easter! If i work on long Friday, Easter eve, eastyer day or second day of Easter! We are getting paid extra because it's a day off, extra for it's a weekend (Saturday or Sunday) plus it's one of the Easter days so we almost reach $80 an hour.

If everyone was in the union, your money would be worthless. There would be no value to it.

This has nothing to do with the union. It's a law. At 6 pm that's when the late shift extra payment starts and then at 10 pm is when the night shift extra pay starts then the rest (weekend and holiday) is a basic law. I don't understand what you mean !

The only thing about musk is that he might pull out of Sweden.

That is a massive might. If he does that! Finland, Norway and Denmark would apply Musk to remove Tesla from their countries too

Largely depends what it's worth to Tesla in terms of sales
For instance the us market is 435,000 units ahead of Sweden with 16,000. Tesla is swedes top selling car last year. Just to put it into perspective. I mean I have personally never seen a Tesla on the road.

Not sure about the exact numbers but i know the Tesla market is huge here in Sweden. Plus! Tesla is not the only company that makes electric cars, that might increase the sales for other companies that make electric cars. I have friends that have the new Volvo electric cars and so far it's just fine as a car and company, that's all i know. I see a lot of teslas here, some loves it, some are 50/50 about it and some hates it, just like anything else

Everyone I know who has a viewpoint views them badly and they are mostly employees about the leaders being on the take
