It is not just US, it’s almost global with men being the most likely to commit suicide. In England 75% of suicides are men and same with being under 50 as the most common type of death.

    https://www.england.nhs.uk/blog/tackling-the-root-causes-of-suicide/

One of the hardest parts of looking into the why and trying to get preventions in place, is the lack of responses from men, as per second link, only 19% of men replied. Guys really do suck at seeking help or bringing up problems , same with prostate cancer. We have regular mental health check ups and screening at work. Globally it does need to be accepted as a major problem and effort put into trying build up prevention and ability to screen better with more mental health support. As this has been going on for years n years, it’s one of those thing no single political party has stood up for and tried to make a difference.

When men do seek help they are treated like criminals. In the U. S. if a veteran admits to feeling suicidal and contacts the VA, he will be arrested, transported to a secure facility in handcuffs, stripped naked, and out in a suicide proof outfit and cel. When men have a breakdown we are treated as dangerous criminals.

That really sucks, they would get help here and not treat like that, unfortunately the mental health side of thing globally is really bad. Bleeding yes we can sort you, no wounds apart from your inner demons, sorry can’t help you

I definitely do. And the leading cause of said suicide is being ripped away from our families and children by vindictive worthless piece of shit ex wives. But as long as its not a female issue, it will never be cared about. Men are disposable to the modern feminist world.

@worldscolide. Exactly right, spot on. This is why men need to support other men and check in on each other regularly.

Yes but I think what's more sad is these men tend to be scared to reach out for help. They think it would make them weak or something but in reality it doesn't.

@Apple1996. Men are treated like dangerous criminals of they express mental health issues. Men are literally arrested, handcuffed, put in police cars, strip searched, put in "suicide gowns", and suicide proof cells. Then the men ar put on "red flag" lists and lose many rights.

There are two mental health spaces for men in this country: Prison and death.

To be fair I know a few women that reached out for help and they treated them exactly how you are talking. Haven't heard that from a man yet. I'm sure it happens tho

If it's facts, then that is quite sad. Society needs to normalize mental health practices and have more open discussions about it.

If you took the top five mens issues (Suicide, Homelessness, Incarceration, Drug Abuse, No Reproductive Rights) and switched them to being womens issues, they'd likely be the top 5 womens issues.

Women would lose their minds if genital mutilation was normal for their gender. Mens issues are so big, most guys give zero shits and don't even think to call anything in their life a real issue. Were really just raised to take it with a smile.

But yeah, I committed suicide fully once. Happened to live, but it really really should have killed me.

It makes sense to me considering how men are demonized and many of them lack access to romance because the women they would have married a generation ago would rather get passed around by a minority of Chads. If these guys see no point in living I wish they would spend their lives in a more productive fashion such suicide bombing feminist rallies or the headquarters of OnlyFans, Meta, and Tinder. If you are going to off yourself you might as well go out with a bang and make a difference with your death.

Its sad. Many are veterans. Biden doesn’t care though, nor Congress. Between that and fentanyl its like we are in a terrible war and to some degree we are, with China on disinformation, causing strife and providing fentanyl. Biden doesn’t care though as he and his family have what they want.

Yes, I did. Unfortunately, mental illness is common, but we are finally starting to talk about mental health as if it is actual health. The only health problem I have ever had is depression, and it doesn't matter if you are in good physical health if you don't want to live. Fortunately, mental illness is treatable. About 80% of depressive illness responds well to medication and psychotherapy. That compares to a 50% success rate to an illness like congestive heart failure, for example.

I know. The nice answer to read is yes I do and it bothers me. The real answer though it bothers me if you looked at my life you probably wouldn´t come to that conclusion. I do few things to really change that.

I thought it was fentanyl. I read the obits every day and it seems that people under 30 die from ODs and guys 30-50 die from suicides. The obits usually say they struggled with depression. I think that people are disappointed with their lives. They see people on TV living these great lives and they look at their own lives and are very dissatisfied.

It is sad but I have heard women are more likely to attempt suicide than men but fail. Men are more likely to succeed at suicide probably because they are usually physically stronger.
