How do you deal with panhandlers?

give them some spare change

ignore them

lie to them that you don't have any money

avoid them (go to another store, cross the street, etc)

I give them some money if I have it. I carry cash less and less these days though. I just always try to make sure to engage them and treat them like a human being, even just in passing. I’ll apologize if I don’t have anything I can give them, and I’ll always tell them to take care or have a good day or whatever, just be friendly and toss them a good vibe at very least.

Typically, as in this day and age we all use cards, I don't have cash. So I just tell them I'm sorry. However, if I do have some spare change, I will usually pass it along.
