How do you feel about beggars?

I've tried to be sympathetic towards them for so long, but almost all of them are hard-core drug addicts and lazy criminals.

I've stopped giving to them, full stop, since one of them came to me and demanded that I give them my customers food. I refused and drove away, they're very annoying. They need to work and contribute to society, not beg for their next drug fix. And they need to stop hanging around in public, they need to be pushed away by law enforcement.

I like the ones that hang out at grand central station and give you directions though. They legit have every stop of every line memorized and will tell you where to go for a dollar 😂

Sometimes they forget to ask for money so I used to throw em a 20

That's cold bruh. Sure there are junkies but many many more have significant mental health problems. I won't give cash but will buy food. If it's a homeless family I'll give cash. The fact that homeless even exists as a word is grotesque but all these MFers in USA America are all "NIMBY. Not THOSE people living near me" They don't support affordable housing and then wonder why their kids move away.

I feel for people who are actually down on their luck. The ones who have chosen homelessness and figured out how to actually make a fair living mooching off the rest of us, not at all. I won’t give money to anyone i haven’t had a conversation with. I also don’t exclude addicts. I’m an alcoholic. I wouldn’t be where i am today without the kindness of strangers.

I feel for the ones that are actually having bad times. The lazy fuckers, drug addicts and alcoholics need to be put in work camps, along with the cronic homeless and made to produce and get treatment , then eventually work their way back into normal society. If the camps are tough enough they will not want to come back and try to stay straight.

UK here. We have a welfare state so they can get money off the government. If they need extra it's probably for drugs.

We do as well, but drugs are expensive, and welfare is only enough to cover the most basic needs like food and water. But they spend it on drugs, instead

We also have programs to get people off drugs, if they want to.

many are scam artists. They have homes and just want money for alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs.
