It seems like the importance of the nuclear household is becoming something more and more people are realizing in ways that fills me with some hope.
Something that I think would help is to stop indoctrinating children in school to think they're oppressed victims of some tyrannical patriarchy of privileged, white, heterosexual males. That destroys people's sense of accountability if they're made to believe they're perpetual victims of society because of their skin color or sex or sexual orientation or anything else.
I also think this notion that being educated and having some conservative views is "acting white" among the black American community needs to go away. I suspect many of us Asians would have similarly done poorly in school and in life in general if there was the stigma associated with us that we were acting white for simply studying and working hard and having some conservative views with respect to family and moral decency, or if more of us were successfully indoctrinated into believing that we live in a state of oppression under white people.
I read this horrifying book called White Fragility. First it's racist towards white people:
>> Rather, I strive to be less white. To be less white is to be less racially oppressive. -- White Fragility, Ch.12
But it's also quite racist towards black people, making them sound like sensitive babies:
>> White women's tears in cross-racial interactions are problematic for several reasons connected to how they impact others. For example, there is a long historical backdrop of black men being tortured and murdered because of a white woman's distress, and we white women bring these histories with us. Our tears trigger the terrorism of this history, particularly for African Americans.
And I have to question if she's actually just projecting her racism onto everyone else:
>> We have a particular hatred for uppity blacks, those who dare to step out of their place and look us in the eye as equals.
Anyway, it's not just this one book. This is echoing a lot of things I saw being taught in my own sociology course in the US all the way back in 2000, and something I've found increasingly widespread. This can't possibly be helpful.
Get rid of the celebration of degeneracy in the "Black Community".. Reinstate the importance of having strong two parent families to raise healthy children.. Reinstate the importance of not necessarily going to school but being educated in all the important areas in life..
In the 40s to the 60s before the Civil Rights movements poverty for "Black" Americans went down much faster than after the Civil Rights era with Welfare and all of the state stuff came in.. It's because the culture more focused on hard work, and doing what you have to do to become a successful adult in life rather than "systemic racism", materialism, and the fabulous "thug life"..
Both Walter Block & Dr. Thomas Sowell have argued, “The black family, which had survived centuries of slavery and discrimination, began rapidly disintegrating in the liberal welfare state that subsidized unwed pregnancy and changed welfare from an emergency rescue to a way of life.”
Oh yeah nice to see my guy Dr. Thomas Sowell quoted here.. The closest thing to a male hero I have..
Thank you for MHO!

You have to figure out what the problem is, then devise solutions. The problem you've stated is one that causes confusion... a report on "colors". Color is not the problem... culture is. Give me a chart differentiating cultural differences and it will make a lot more sense. Note... I am not eliminiating that there is "racism"... didn't say that. What I am saying is all colors can be VERY successful if their cultures are following the patterns of other successful cultures. If all of a given color is following the success practices, then most of that color will be successful! It's cultural!
To be a little racist then... I'm surrounded by successful "colored black" people. There are also "colored black" people that are stuck in poverty, a large number of them. My experience with this is they are oppressed by the flaws in their culture they were raised in. Those flaws get passed on in behavioral patterns that need to be changed. Examples you noted... fatherlessness e. g. stable well trained 2 parent households, too many children too soon... e. g. I know of a family that had 11 kids without resources to care for any of them absent the govt, music, discipline, discipline (relgious, athletics, parents), food quality, absence of poisons, access to positive mentors, religious, access to after school programs ($), and access to higher education ($).
These issues cut across color lines... impacting certain "colors" more than others.
I could try to prove that with evidence. Dos it make sense? If you believe this to be true, then we can start discussing solutions. Is that what you want? If we aren't on the same page, it's a waste of time to talk solutions.
If you really want to solve it, it's solvable, but it is will be grass roots, from the bottom with resources... for people don't want to change. They want to keep doing what they were trained to do as a child, thus the cycles continue. But when they have hope, with some faith, support, resources, discipline... they can and will... get to a better place. Many have.
I will not dispute there are 100 times as many genes that determine the brain size and other brain factors but they are not visible so color is what people use because it is more visible. Since everyone knows what black means, I will use instead of attempting to reinvent the wheel.
I don't agree on your statement about black and here's why.
Some black people say other "colored black" people aren't black... meaning cultural difference. It's an overloaded term and can get confusing quickly.
It's some formulate of culture that produces success within the system we have. works for all shades.
I don't know how to comment on genes, know nothing about that. I've seen no issue with the intelligence of various people I meet of various colors. I do see the impact of parenting, nutrition, environment.
There is no white privilege any more. Our parents take care in raising us. They make sure that we have a good education. They teach us values like: “you will be rewarded for hard work, and being honest, and staying out of gangs”. Not: “the black man never stands a chance. The white world will never let him succeed. They hate us. They consider us inferior”.
People are coming in from Latin America are thriving. Many of these people are at first poor and uneducated. Even with disadvantages of not being a citizen at times, they seem to be outperforming many in the black community. Why is it that they can succeed when so many black people don’t?
They’ve had four generations to recover since slavery. It’s no longer an excuse.
I think what is really holding back many in the black community is: 1) the victim mentality, 2) the fact that many black fathers decide to run as opposed to take care of the children they made, 3) illegal drug use, 4) gangs, 5) lack of education that is often their choice. You see black teenagers gang up in other students to beat them up, you see them go on top of desks and twerk, punch teachers, skip school more often, and various other things.
No amount of money can fix these problems. It has to be done internally by the black community. They shouldn’t be looking at the rest of the country and saying: “fix this for us”. No one is helping Latin Americans.
I'm not talking about the people coming into the country without proper channels or overstaying passed their visas.
The black community has the least likelihood to have children in wedlock along with Latino communities and the result seems to reflect a more impoverished result.
For those born into broken families the inequality is non existent. Children from any race born into a broken family scenario fall behind academically, socially and eventually financially. They are more likely to abuse drugs and develop psychiatric issues.
I'm white, my father raised me while being disabled, mom not paying child support, not even part of my life most of the time and I turned out fine. Why can't the single moms in these African American communities do right by their children?
S stop separating each labeling classifying each other, are we not all humans remove all of our skins do we not all look alike now, this is one example of government influence in society, all they do is label separate and divide us and society just goes right along with it and so does the ignorance and hate, everyone aspect is living here it's structure, lay out it's all by gvmnt design, what's wrong with just saying humans man woman, instead of African American Korean American it makes no sense but what you don't hear is European American, no it's Caucasian or angle rarely, why does one school district have more advanced learning over another, tell me, makes no sense it's by design elevate one race over another remove our skins who do you favor now, no one here is better than the next you can fool yourselves into believing this folly and walk around with air it supremacy, but don't we all need water to live food to eat, are we all not born and will pass on one day, so how is anyone better than the next change you way of thinking and the world will change with it
"57.6% of black children,
31.2% of Hispanic children, and
20.7% of white children are living absent their biological fathers."
We have to analyse first why this is the case. Is it a cultural problem within the families? A psychological problem in the fathers? Sexual violence or feminism?
In the USA, Black and Latino families are often poorer due to historical factors such as slavery and immigration from the South. This has created a pent-up demand to build wealth. It is worth considering whether this social imbalance contributes to another generation of children growing up without fathers, who may then fall into the same pattern themselves. It is important to note that repeating what is known, even if one initially opposes it intellectually, is a common phenomenon. Studies conducted in the 1970s on alcoholism in American families revealed that the children who experienced the suffering in childhood first hand though were more likely to become alcoholics themselves.
The fear of perpetuating the cycle did not prevent this outcome.
To break this cycle, a complete turn to Jesus Christ is seen as the only solution, as He is the only one who can bring about fundamental change in people.
Not a US citizen. A refresh of social mores across all demographics I would say but that takes at least a generation. You could argue the current sit has taken 60 years (from 1960).
It can be beneficial for mothers to separated from the fathers of their children for the benefits of being s single mom. Without a family to provide for there is not as much motivation for men to work hard.
I don't know the US sit but I'd guess that is affecting most western societies. I am asking myself if I only have myself to provide for why put my self under a lot of work stress? I would have if I was building a family.
Its a lie. Even if we are disadvantaged guess what when there was actually heavy slavery there were blacks who overcame that disadvantage and became rich and owned land. So i feel my black folks are bothering from mental slavery. We are free in a great nation with opportunities, even our poor people living on the streets are more rich then a 3rd world countries poor people
Encourage marriage and make it so that divorce can't happen over petty squabbles.
That's it. By doing that, you'd be cutting a massive amount of crime happening in those areas and black kids would be doing better in school and will be more successful on life overall.
Missing a massive amount of factors as to why these stats are the way they are. Black people have the exact same advantages many just choose not to go for them. As for the absent fathers the majority of those "absent fathers" is the woman's fault which comes out if one delves deeper than just listing the statistic. So I would say that the answer to what should our society do is nothing. They are doing this to themselves so they can dig themselves out.
Of those low earners, how many come from low economic backgrounds as opposed to having a better base to work from?
There are no rights that a white person has that a minority dosent have, I anything affirmative action means minorities have better opportunities. If you look at education data, many minorities out perform whites. People need to stop hiding behinda label and get out there and do it
They're given so many advantages, yet still do nothing but destroy society. Just look at IQ scores around the world, most majority black countries have IQ scores so low that they are classified as mentally retarded
Fix the welfare system to discourage single mothers. Improve the public schools and impose penalties for truancy. The idea is to create self sufficiency. The government has spent billions on handouts and the problem has only gotten worse.
Stop abortion at will, vastly improve public schools and financially incentivize "baby daddies" and their partners to marry and stay married. Equal opportunity versus equity.
Tell them to stop being such lazy motherfuckers and go get a fucking job! And, once they've GOT money coming in, STOP BLOWING IT ON SMOKES, BOOZE AND DRUGS, and all that gold shit they think they need (gold teeth, gold hubcaps, gold-plated testicles, etc..)
Nothing. Black people have to solve their own problems instead of looking for the white man to save them because for one the white man seriously doesn't care anyways and two it isn't the white man problem.
The single biggest thing is segregation, which is worse now than when Brown v Board was passed in the 50s. More funding for schools, incentives for higher ed, etc.
Doesn’t have to be “reparations” just good ole fashioned economic stimulus.
Stop calling black people victims. Imagine being told your entire life that you will never succeed because whitey is keeping you down and that cops will randomly shoot you.
The graph just shows that blacks have crappier outcomes. It doesn’t demonstrate anywhere at all that they have those outcomes because they’re black.
Nothing. Blacks have to change their lifestyle. Cause believe it or not: it's not the color of skin that determines how well you do in society. It's how you lead your life. And that can be learned. And learning that is up to you.
Well, your stat pretty much says it all. Fewer broken families. So our society should probably do less to encourage the dissolution of the family.
It's only the stupid blacks who are disadvantaged. The smart ones do okay.
If you want to prevent social conflicts, make societies multicultural. This will bear fruit, over time
Nothing, it'll even out over time.
Black people should seek their rights more
