Why is it so many young people are bitching about having to work, to contribute to society, to survive?

I personally have ZERO sympathy for these people. Especially when it comes from young women who feel like they shouldn't have to work to have a place to live. Its like welcome to what men have had to do since the dawn of time. I my self have been working since i was 14, and have been working 50 to 60 hours per week since i was 18.. I survive, i take care of my wife, i put food on the table and a roof over our heads. Its not hard to understand that fact. the woman in the video is bitching because for her to have a 2 bedroom apartment she has to work 40 hours per week.. Okay, you live alone, Get a goddamn studio, or a one bedroom.. Why the fuck do you need a two bedroom as a single mom without kids? And if you feel like you can't afford it, move to a LCOL place.. leave these giant cities that cost times what it costs everywhere else to live. Zero sympathy.

I agree with you. I think some people grow up without anyone telling them what the reality of living as an adult is like. She’s likely in a shitty 9-5 like a call center, or some other field she doesn’t enjoy that basically just needs bodies. This is why it’s SO important to build skills in an industry you enjoy and do it early.


Of course Candace had to use this as an opportunity to take a stab at women working “boo feminism blah blah” all from her desk … at her career… 🙄

I agree that work is super important. It is a part of life. However, work should not over consume your life to the point where you can't even enjoy your life. I think that is what she is getting at. I think as a society there is really nothing to prepare you for how tough the world is after college. In college you have to work hard to get good grades but can skip class and have fun with your friends and it is easy to make new friends and meet people. As an adult it is really hard to make friends because of how much you have to work, and it is not like college where you see the same faces everyday. Also with our economy being in the shitter because of Biden. Everything is so expensive you have to be making at least 100k to be comfortable. I really think she is referring to having no work life balance. Not having a social life can make you crazy and depressed.

I hate people who complain that they have to earn their keep. We all have to do something with our lives at some point.

That being said, I don't think anyone can tell other people what cities to live in or what size appartements to rent. I know you're pointing out the logical steps needed to better one's situation but people are different they have different expectations from life and so they chase different goals.

I for one want a beachside condo as my primary residence. Some people prefer a loft in a big city. Some a brick house in the mountains. It's a matter of opinion

I work at a kroger where the executives ride on private planes to rub a white glove. Then Passing judgment and getting tax exceptions equal to my yearly wage for every private jet expenses.

Why play defensive for them? Unless your family is already rich why defend them? The asshole kid that dosen't know his ass from his elbow bossing you around are you going "yes sir yes sir." Then everything goes wrong and who done it?

I have no clue. Only thing I can think of that most people don't like these days is 1. Having to work lots of hours, even overtime. 2. Not getting paid enough for the work you do to live off of. 3. Because of those two or one, you don't get much time for other parts of life. I don't work but I can definitely say I'd probably rather be doing that. Even though most people would probably tell me I wouldn't want to work.

Exactly, my first apartment was a studio. It literally cost me 220 per month. At the time minimum wage was 5.25 per hour, and after a 40 hour work week, times 4, I had most of my money left. Her choice to have a two bedroom in a likely trendy part of town is her own undoing.

I wish my apartment was that cheap. My first was a one bed and lived alone in 2017-2018 and it costed me 900/month. I was a college student living in an apartment made for students at the time so that's probably why it was so expensive.
