Have you noticed how most people since the beginning of humans dont think for themselves?

Many people always done things just because everyone else does it, etc. Have kids, get romantically involved with someone. Many people do things they dont want but do it for other reasons.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. For example, I’ll catch myself doing something stupid and not really thinking just being on “autopilot”.. then I pause and I’m like, “try to figure it out”… I do figure it out when I start thinking for myself. I stop doing what I see others do or trying what others have tried, and I start thinking for myself. We would all be better off and more advanced if we did this more often. I know it’s safe to do what’s worked in the past, but just because it’s safe, doesn’t mean it’s the best or most efficient way.

I never had a girlfriend and Im 32. I gave up with trying to get one and started to think that if I am single for life thats good, if I have a girlfriend that's good too. My friend says what if I'm 40 and I still never had a girlfriend, even though I told him so many times I dont care if Im single for life. Not everyone in human history is the same.

Yes all the time at work. They copy what I do or I teach them. In return they stab me in the back or try to take credit.

@Sharkstealth I have a friend that knows that I have been single my whole life so far, and I tell him how I eventually gave up with trying and I dont mind if I am single or not single the rest of my life. Im 32, turn 33 this year and he says,"what if you are 40 and still single," I tell him I dont care.

That sounds like me although my body count is pretty high. In fact some girl that only looked about 19 and cute as hell was very friendly with me yesterday. A hostess at a restaurant I frequent. I know I can get her which I will soon. Not as a relationship though. 30s and 40s were the best times for me.

I never had a girlfriend and I stopped trying. I stopped caring if I'm single forever. Yet there has always been people that dont care if they have a romantic partner or not, but just got one because everyone else does it.

I didn't realize it was so specific. I mean I guess. I think a lot of this dating thing has to do with hormones though.

Even little boys and girls show romantic interest in each other even before they have any concept of societal expectations.

It's a survival mechanism, we are programmed to care what other people think in order to survive with the tribe.
