+1 yI kind of feel like we want to rush into blaming porn as the cause, but I don’t know if that’s accurate. I don’t really feel any type of way about porn. It’s a thing, it’s there. I’ve learned a trick or two from it in some senses, in other senses you have remain very aware that what you’re watching isn’t reality. I think it’s more on the consumer being unable to do that for themselves. So I don’t rush to demonize it or the performers. I hope by this point in time that it’s regulated enough to be safe for everyone involved, that’s the most important thing.
I’ve heard a few interviews with performers over the years, Howard Stern would have them on a lot when I was in high school, and I’ve heard more recent interviews on podcasts and whatnot. I’m usually like “damn, this person seems normal as fuck.” The porn is just a job like any other. Show up and work. Sometimes it’s a good day, sometimes it’s a bad day. But it’s another day at the office. Many have boyfriends or even husbands, and they’ve made their peace with it. I don’t personally have a lot of puritanical views towards sex, I don’t think you’re “tainted” by each additional partner, so much of that is nonsense based in personal sexual insecurity. And most of these girls’ answers to “so why porn?” is just “I love dick, bro, so why not get paid if I’m gonna be fucking anyway? Simple as that.” How much is genuine and how much is a façade…I don’t know and none of us can speculate accurately, but they seem to be there of their own will, and they seem to just be like “it beats workin’!” There could be outside stigmas you deal with, hurdles in dating, but ultimately, that’s the fault of people being weird and judgmental about porn and it’s performers.
On the flip side…. you do hear a lot of women in porn have histories of past sexual trauma. And honestly THAT is probably more of a cause, porn participation may just be a symptom. And I think in a job like that, your schedule is pretty loose, so if you want to go to the club and get drunk and blow lines or take pills or whatever, you can get away with that. What’s your workday? Four hours, a couple days a week? Two hours in the makeup chair and two shooting? Lotta down time, and all you gotta do the next day at work is get laid, you don’t have to make a presentation to a board of investors, lmao. And you’re young, you’re in party cities like LA or Miami with some money in your pocket…. you might get into some drugs. And for women, the drugs often come free. And drugs combined with sexual trauma is probably a bad mix, and I could see someone spiraling from that whether they work in porn or they’re a kindergarten teacher. I think porn requires a certain “fuck it” attitude to work in that business, for better or for worse, and I’d be more interested in how someone arrived at “fuck it” as far as searching for a cause.
I don’t know, just very sad to hear a young woman has passed, that’s tragic🙏

+1 yWell, there is a list of things I should think.
- You are reduced to being used and degraded for money. Sharing some of these sex acts for fun or gratification with somebody you love or consent to being with is not the same as being paid to do it for other to view en masse.
- Like any actor or actress you want some kind of professional recognition but in this profession there really isn’t one of true substance.
- You have a very narrow shelf life until some newer, hotter, actress comes along.
- You have to push outside your boundaries of comfort to be competitive. Whether you like it you need to take facials, anal, multiple men, and the like to appeal to a small buy paying demographic.
- Your ability to have a normal, healthy, balanced relationship is virtually non-existent. Perhaps another porn star can be with you but that’s far from normal too.
- Society sends mixed signals. They idolize you through their use of your products and making you rich (if you are among the 15% or so who attain that level of success) but also ostracize you from a normal life. Just look up how many of these women are shunned and banned from their kids schools, local churches, or even their own neighborhood. I’ve met a few non-porn but famous and gorgeous women (models, playmates, and the like) who need to pay for protection from stalkers and the random hate they are subjected to from other women is really sad and disgusting.
- There is very little porn in which women are portrayed in a way which is respectful. It’s probably one thing if your man who loves you talks a little dirty and pushes boundaries you consent to but another thing entirely to have a legion of men call you “bitch”, “whore”, and “slut”.
- Every man who meets you has a assumption that he too can have sex with you since that’s all your known for.
- Most importantly, many, many of these women come from histories and/or are currently experiencing abuse be it sexual or physical. The psychological damage is compounded to an exponential level in the environment of the porn world. Add to that rampant self-medication through drug & alcohol abuse and it’s nearly a perfect storm for destroying one’s mental health.
Lots of professions have high stress and female porn stars are probably not even in the top 20.10 Reply
+1 yNo woman can actually find happiness in that kind of business. So the longer they stay in it the closer they get to the edge. They eventually learn they are just garbage and just a hole to get used and abused for the amusement of millions of others. I am sure it must feel pretty empty after years of that crap.

+1 yBecause the porn industry is one that consumes people both men and women and chews them up before spitting them out and by that point whatever is left of them is hanging by a thread. Many of these stars don't get paid jack and are essentially work horses for entertainment purposes and put themselves through the ringer. The only ones who make money are the ones who do the extreme things that pay more and it further can be testing of their personal boundaries and values.
Many of these stars are addicted to drugs, alcohol and other vices that they use to escape and cope with the lifestyle. If they indulge in it as a way to aid their mental health it creates a slippery slope for them to go down darker roads and thus we get to suicide.
At the end of the day though, it is still a suicide that happens just like when other celebrities and every day average Joe's do it. No one is free from that possibility.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yWell she likely had issues before involving physical or emotional abuse from her mother and father, self esteem issues and a desire for validation and fame which is probably why she got into porn in the first place like most sex workers.
At 36 she was past it and probably rid out after 16 years of taking giant cocks and dildos up her pussy and ass for 10 hours per day. Getting very little money for her work and probably broke. Then no good man wants to marry and have kids with her and any man that would she would never be able to respect. You can't just do porn and disappear, porn is forever and the shame and disgust in brings on you.
Was dating a girl 2 years ago who did only fans with her ex, it's a big regret for her.

They are the same level of maturity as college kids. Unlike college kids they don't have the protective bubble of college. So they go from living with their parents to living in the adult world we ith no time to adapt. It's extremely difficult to survive that. Plus porn parties have booze and drugs, so they are exposed to that too. Unlike college kids who generally can't legally obtain alcohol, those who provide it at those parties can. Combine that with recreational marijuana becoming legal in most states, this only compounds the drug prblem.

+1 yaccumulated unresolved emotional damage.
I wonder how many had found Christ and found freedom from their past traumas or destructive behaviors. they lack a level of control and thus are violated, just paid for it. the pay doesn't address the emotional impact of the physical act.
in WWII many german women jumped off bridges rather than be abused by the invading armies.
In essence, are they being tortured to some extent, just paid for it?
10 Reply 6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. My guess is because they feel like they were tricked but no one has any sympathy for them. There was a minor epidemic of Trump supporters going through this after 1/6 as well - I knew two that killed themselves in fact. And for all the anger stirred up by the media waving divisions in our faces, it is extremely sad.
Or it could just be drugs. Thats common enough among high profile jobs.
00 Reply897 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The porn industry is taboo business like imagine someone can see everything of you online and you can´t do something about because you sign the rights of the material to the company for ever. Like they can put up your material ever and ever again.
That´s something many porn actors can only survive using drugs and that raises their chance of dying by suicide.00 Reply- 1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yThere's no 401k with porn. A lot of these women are partying hard and end up broke once they can't command high money anymore. With a few exceptions, older porn stars just aren't going to command as much money and if that's all you've done for 20 years, where else you going to go?

+1 yThis just proves how the f*cked the porn industry is for women. I stopped watching porn some time ago after watching some documentaries and doing some reading on the topic. Now I always question 'what made that woman do this? How did she end up here?' Porn should be banned for real.

10 Reply 2.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Why does any celebrity commit suicide many can deal with the stresses of being famous and constant need to act a certain way
00 Reply3.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I think it reflects more the type of person who becomes a porn star rather than the effects of being one.
People with issues are more likely to go that path.
