^^Can Be Anything. xxoo
When I was maybe 17, I had a minor fender bender in my big, '63 Buick. My mouth hit the steering wheel causing my lower lip to hit my front upper teeth. I had to get a couple stitches on the inside of my lower lip.
Later, I went to a friend's house where a group of friends, including my girlfriend were hanging out. My lower lip was very swollen and protruding with black stitches. I was very self conscious.
When my girlfriend saw me, instead of rushing to me with concern, asking what had happened and if I was alright, she laughed. That was a red flag.
I expect loyalty from a partner and think women should have maternal instincts.
My wife, for example, would have been very concerned, asked what had happened, run to get an ice pack, and tried to make me feel better.
In August, 1971, at the age of 16, I began college 350 miles from home. On my first day on campus, I met Ken. He was friendly, accepting, eager to befriend a young college freshman. I had a good gut feeling about him.
In February, 2024, he is still my best friend.
When I was 5 or 6 years old my grandfather took me to a park. There was a kid there, he was much older than me and I didn't like to be around him. My grandfather left me at the park with him for a couple of minutes. I felt that something was wrong, but I couldn't tell what was wrong. Well, this kid ended up hurting me, I hit my forehead on the swinger and fell.
Years later, we went to the same school and he and his friends stole my bus pass. So, I've always knew that I shouldn't be around him.
A past relationship. He had severe mental health issues but at the initial stage of the relationship I was mourning my father and couldn't really think clearly. I got hooked on the moments, which were alternated with bad ones, because it made me feel good. 3 years later after a bad discussion I let him go. It was unfortunately a big red flag. Xx
I'm sorry for your loss. Although it's comforting in a way that it's something we share. Xx
Thank you!! xx

A few years ago, I was getting off at work and wanted to get something to eat. There was a Chick Fil A in the area in which I always went. On this night, however, something kept telling me not to go there. I ignored the feeling and went anyway. Everything was fine, until I was about to leave. This couple came up to me, asking me if they could pray over my foot (I’m flat footed in my left foot). I (hesitantly) agreed. I’m a Christian, but this was weird. Thankfully, they finished and I left without incident.
I trust my gut. Always have done. My best friend of over 30 years is who he is in my life because the first time I met him I knew he was a good guy to be around. He's godfather to my son and I love him like he's my brother.
My red flag instincts are too personal to share on here. I've been the person who prevented several suicide attempts from being successful by listening to my gut and checking on the person in question. More than that I'm not saying.
When family ask me for money but aren’t clear and honest about the reasons
like dude you are my kin don’t lie to me I’m on your team
and women who disrespect others in public and expect me to defend her
no I don’t tolerate ill mannered women I’ve lost a few friends because they were with women like that
its not hard to treat people with decency and respect
I should have listened to my mum about her red flags and gut feelings.
In 2013 mothers day weekend, my then husband and I were travelling the 6 hours to my parents. Mum didn't want us to drive down but take the bus, she even said she would pay for us. She said something bad was going to happen with the car. However we needed to have the car because we had other things to do on the way there and back. Four hours in to the trip there was a bang under the car while we were driving, another car pulled up along side us shouting flames where pouring out from underneath the car. We pulled over out of traffic and found ourselves surrounded by flames. The whole car on fire. My husband got out ok but I got a first and second degree burn on the back of my left leg from ankle to knee. I was in hospital for 2 months.
Really should have listened to my mum.
I was in a relationship with somebody that lives halfway across the country. We had been discussing marriage and I thought we had a serious relationship. Long distance relationships are hard. There was no emails or video chats. Phone. Calls were very expensive too. She really put little effort in maintaining the relationship. I flew out to see her and when she picked me up at the airport she wore a blue Hoodie that was covered in plaster dust. Her hair was in a weird perm and combed over to one side. She told me that she almost forgot to pick me up. All of a sudden I did not see her the same way. I thought that when you were in a relationship you try to be on your best behavior. This girl could not even be bothered to look presentable. Then she tells me that she almost forgot about me. I tried not to think about it but I think I deserved better. I called her a few months later and broke up with her over the phone
Red flag experience was when I was around a toxic relationship all the time and even though things are going great, you know something's going to happen and it will be hell on earth once more. You simply know the toxic person better than they know themselves, which just baffles me. But without fail, they'd revert to their hell spawn self.
Another one is while training, doing an acrobatic that I've done countless times. My body, for some reason, told me not to do it this time. I didn't understand why so of course I went through with it. Hurt myself.
when i could hear his ballsac*k clap and flop everywhere when we were just walking around talking.. red flag he is way too huge
It’s not a god. It’s science. Intuition is a human’s defense mechanism.
All our ancestors paused before walking into the forest. And now we give credit to some magic man in the sky.
I had a bad feeling about a gal a guy relative married. Something was just "off". No one listened to me. She eventually sued her way out of the marriage- her second- gets alimony, and then went on to go through another guy. She's now on her fourth guy- quite a hustle.
Secretly knowing my first girlfriend was using me to make her ex jelious
