Trending & News The question is a bit overbroad. Do I trust ALL politicians?
The obvious answer is no. No more than I trust ALL people in general. Such a level of trust would not likely be rewarded as not ALL people are equally trustworthy.
To start, as the old saw goes, "trust but verify." Trust is earned and it is earned by being confirmed by experience.
To mistrust as a matter of principle is not wise, it is simply paranoia and is apt to produce outcomes as equally as bad as giving blind trust. The blunt truth being that no society can survive where there is not a degree of trust and understanding.
The American public likes to fancy itself the font of all virtue and wisdom, but in fact they are as much hypocrites as the politicians that they like to disparage. The best example being the budget deficit.
The American public talks a ferocious game against big government and deficits. The public that does so having the following profile:
1 in 6 people who work, work for government.
1in 7 are Social Security recipients.
1/3 of all families, this year, will receive some form of government transfer payment.'
Yet the politician who would be indiscreet enough to point to the public's blatant inconsistency - and the logical implications of it - would be an unemployed politician. The blunt truth being, as Shakespeare wrote, "The fault, dear Brutus, lies not with our stars, but within ourselves."
So given the complex questions with which they deal and the public whom they serve, politicians must navigate a complicated social environment and this must be taken into account. Their actions must be judged case-by-case, keeping in mind that an imperfect people in an imperfect society are apt to produce imperfect government and an imperfect political class.
The result will produce imperfect outcomes. It being then remarkable that the USA has produced the government and society it has - one of the best, not ideal, but best, on Earth. The same system that gave the nation Clinton's sex scandal also gave it Abraham Lincoln.
Time and experience then affording the public the opportunity to learn whether or not to trust a politician. Case-by-case, measured against realistic standards of an imperfect world where imperfect politicians are elected by a public that is blissfully unaware of its' own limitations.
I trust most politicians to do whatever they think they can get away with, which rarely has anything to do with what they claimed to believe or promised to do. Most act almost exclusively in their own self-interest.
There are a handful of exceptions. None of these are perfect or anywhere close, but these few at least are largely consistent in reality with who they claim to be publicly. Sadly, that's about as good as you can hope for.
If you can't trust politicians who can you trust? These upstanding citizens put the public good before their own and their behaviour beyond reproach as they strive to create a better world for little pay and only our four yearly approval, an example to us all and may God bless each and every one of them.
What planet do you live on? LOL
I don’t.
I was into micro politics at some point of my life, It’s dirty, even at micro levels.

Was “all” a typo? Didn’t you mean “any”?
Just imagine if a politician was brutally honest about everything they can and can’t do. Would they ever get elected?
It’s almost a prerequisite to lie and embellish when you are a politician.
That's unfortunately the truth and downside of it.
It’s really the fault of uneducated low information voters. Especially those who imbibe on the false promises of “free”.
There is NO SUCH THING as “free”.
That's a big "Fuck no."
There are good politicians just like there are good people in any profession. But the whole system is just beyond corrupt that eventually most end up corrupt themselves even if they had good intentions to start.
Everything is alright about the money, an MOST people always have a price they'd be willing to be bought out for. Because money buys you a better standard of life and most people in the world are selfish fucks.
Nope. Not even the ones I used to believe in. Although my views are more democratic, I'm no longer really political and don't believe in any side. They are all career criminals with no real care for the common person. They are a varsity boy club that keeps secrets and has interest in only money, destruction, and their own personal goals.
I trust some politicians but not all of them. Many politicians have as qualification that they are good at talking. I trust only some politicians due to their experience and because they have shown by reasonable statements that they know what they do.
I trust very few (if any) politicians. Almost all politicians (especially the career politicians) make decisions and do things to keep themselves in power (i. e.-winning the next election), not thinking about what's best for their constituents.
That's why term limits are a good idea, but in the US at least, that's not going to happen, because the politicians in power would have to create term limits laws, and they're not about to put themselves out of a job.
All? More like none.
The two main parties in the US are twin cancers that are destroying the country. Instead of recognizing (and correcting) the flaws in their own respective platforms they double down and attack anyone who criticizes them.
I don't trust any of them either side. They're all corrupt in their own way. Just looking out for themselves. 99% of politicians are not looking for the best for our country.
I don't think any intelligent or decent person would become a politician, with a few exceptions. For example, Robert F. Kennedy Jr or Andrew Bridgen.
Professional charismatic liars?
No, no I don't trust liars.
I either find them ridiculous or scary or both.
No, I do not trust any of them. Maybe pick the one that will screw up my life the least.
precisely, the lesser of both evils.
I wouldn't trust any politician as far as I could throw them.
I do not trust or support any politicians, They all lie way to much.
Think you meant "any" and no. No one with even half a brain cell trusts politicians.
Politicians! If someone were to ask me what they are, I'd respond with "They are professional liars getting paid"
HELL, NO!! You CAN'T trust the democrats and quite a lot of the republicans are at least somewhat shady.
No more than I would trust a hungry 18' python.
I don't have to trust all politicians, only those I am voting for.
I think all politicians are sleezy scum bags with their own agenda until they can consistently prove otherwise. Also any career politician who has amassed +10 million dollars is human scum...
all? certainly not. in contrast to the businessman trump.
I don't trust anyone to tell the truth about matters where that have an interest. I always want to see the data.
listen to trump... he said trust noone...
that includes him
Lol 52 responses and a 100% no vote, not at all surprising. People with power are usually untrustworthy sadly.
It's a selfish profession by default. Do what you must to survive.
To survive, we need likeminded allies. It's nice to see you back. :)
@andreasderjuengere it's not cha gee much lol
Thank you 😎
*changed (eating and typing is ill advised)
:) enjoy your meal
@andreasderjuengere haha thanks
they are all run by the same jew controlled by Satan to cause division amongst ourselves.
All politicians lie. Even Trump (sometimes).
No, 98% of politicians Republican and Democrat, are corrupt and do the bidding of their corporate donors.
All? I don't even trust a single one. Not one.
Politician, used car salesmen, beurocrat are all in the same bucket, LIARS.
You'd be a fool to believe any politician has anything other than their own interests in mind
To Re-phase Your question
"Do You trust any Politicians?"
The answer is No.
No way there is someone who trusts all politicians, because there sides to lean on politics and there are radicals in each side.
That means, even if you trust everyone in your political side (you shouldn't), there are politicians who oppose your side, so of course you won't agree and trust them
I never did and never will trust a politician. They will lie to your face
I absolutely trust all politicians to do whatever is in their own self interest. And then I keep that in mind when voting. So far, I’ve been correct 100% of the time.
100% no, lol. Yet 99% of Congress is re-elected. Why?
Possibly, only those that would be very close to my ideas.
If they are honest when elected. It doesn’t take long for them to change!
I trust none of the professional political overseer class.
The only politician you can trust is a dead one.
If you ever ever like a politician. You have been fooled.
who would vote yes lmao
Are any politicians trust worthy?
I trust them to be people.
No. Puppets the lot of them.
To be honest I don't trust any of them.
The opposite, rather :)
Do you trust professional liars?
I think this will be the first 100% poll
Nope... especially Trump
I trust the locally elected ones
I do trust some but all? No
I don't trust any politician.
I was ready for hell no
