No, not really. The kind of tribe- Judaism, to an appalling number of people, is Schrodinger's demographic trait; either a religion or an ethnicity, depending on whichever would be more advantageous in a given situation- that wants a marker that would unambiguously identify someone as part of it, because nobody else is stupid enough to do it. It didn't work.

This is why it was only practiced in times and places where that kind of distinction was necessary; once ancient Israel was established, the practice fell away, up until the Babylonians and Assyrians came knocking, when a firmer distinction between "us" and "them" became necessary. Ditto with the whole female succession thing; you'll notice that the genealogies in the Bible are exclusively patrilineal- Solomon is always the son of David, not the son of Bathsheba. That practice really only came into play when local nobles needed to protect their bastard children during pogroms, and when it comes to saving the life of your child from a bloodthirsty mob, you'll make up whatever ludicrous traditions you need to.

It IS a faith that makes a virtue of male disposability, but except for Buddhism and certain esoteric sects of Christianity, they all do that.

I was watching a video of Gabor who is a famous doctor and he was asked how he viewed Jordan Peterson and Gabor said Peterson is a cherry picking ideology dismisser because Peterson talks about how many people are murdered due to communism and ignores the number of people who are murdered due to Christian ideology. Christians are told to carry the cross of Jesus by choosing persecution and possible death over giving up their religious values, so Jewish people are not the only ones who make demands on their male population, just like Islamic families make demands on both their males and females to behave in sacrificial ways and follow certain cultural or religious rules like fasting, or hierarchal family compliance at home.
