Orwell tried to warn everyone where Marxism and "wokeness" (the concept - the term had yet to be invented) would lead 80 years ago, but far too few people listened or took it seriously. It's all played out almost exactly as he predicted.

The left, which now controls most of the government on both sides of the pond, doesn't care about doing what's right - it only cares about doing what FEELS right or APPEARS right in the moment, and if a few moments later something else feels or appears right, they'll change the rules and deny that they ever wanted anything else. The mainstream media will enable and protect them, always framing things in a favorable way.

The UK lacks a "bill of rights", but the US has also imprisoned people for expressing ideas or reporting on unpopular news as well. And just like in the UK, the US is also promoting the rights of immigrants (illegal and otherwise) over the rights of citizens.

Hopefully, people will keep voting for these same people, against their own self-interests, so that they end up like North Koreans - absolute powerless slaves with zero rights who are only tolerated to the extent that they enable the elites to have very high lifestyles. We wouldn't want anything crazy like personal freedoms and personal responsibility - that would be outrageous. Imagine the chaos if there was more than one set of ideas! The horror!

I've been "woke" since 14, when my parents awakened my sisters and me to the racism we'd face.( Huddie "Lead Belly" Ledbetter , a 20's and 30's bluesman, is credited with coining "woke" to tell African Americans about being alert to potentially fatal situations in the South of that era.)

Britain is a nasty, decayed, class-riven mess which is trying (the wrong way, in my view) to compensate for centuries of colonialism and racism against BIPOC by in some cases, being too lenient towards BIPOC criminals, though were the situations reversed, I wonder if you'd have posted them. I sincerely doubt it. And Britain, like the USA, is filled with ugly "John Bull" (their term for blue-collar rightist blokes) bigots who, like their Yankee counterparts, vote Tory despite the British rightists' being just as protective of the rich as America's REPIGLIKSCAM. Too, Brexit, when the yahoos decided to leave the European Union because of former P. M Boris Johnson, an even dumber Trump (B. J. was even also born in New York City like Trump), scuttled their economy, and I guess the last vestiges of common sense.

Not surprising that hate crime against Jewish people is not operative in England. Nor in my country Australia. A week ago a Jewish man was abducted for his phone. The activists smashed his finger with a hammer to persuade him to give them the passcode. I guess this was done to get a list of Jewish people or non Jews that know Jews.

Definitely not a race hate crime according to police, like it would be if directed at White Palestinian protestors.

gotta feel for the victim. the solution is to ensure the judge is molested agains their will... then they understand followed by being sold an anti immigration sticker. Then judge can decide if their rule is correct.

People get lenient sentences for rape in the USA more often then here in the UK. We have some of the longest sentences in the world for sexual offences
