The US broadly is not "trying to stop abortions." It was an issue most people had kind of just begun to passively accept wasn't going anywhere until radical leftists started "shout your abortion" and other celebratory nonsense which led to three (maybe more) states openly bragging about pushing laws to legalize abortion not just to the moment of birth, but even within hours of birth already happening. Late term abortions let alone what I just described have never been even close to popular in the states, but the pharmaceutical/medical research industry in the US considers samples from these babies to basically be gold, and bribes the crap out of state and federal governments to tolerate it. Furthermore, medical schools in the US are teaching a nonsensical viewpoint that a fetus is only a living baby at any point if the mother acknowledges it as such, blatantly abandoning any kind of scientific research on the subject to support the industry and encourage women to not think twice about abortions, despite the fact about 2/3 of women who have one will suffer psychological trauma as a direct result. This is hardly seen as a problem by these people though, because the same industry also profits off of therapy and anti-depressants, etc.
When the abortion issue was (rightfully) kicked out of the hands of the federal government, it was generally celebrated more by the anti-abortion side, though perhaps ironically it became a huge problem for conservative politicians who turned out to have been grifting the issue for support for years, not expecting to actually have to put their names on any relevant legislation. The result of that was that only half of the states who had previously claimed they would ban abortions given the choice actually did, and the momentum has largely fizzled out in favor of charities and non-profits over government action.
One thing that almost all Americans support is an exception (of some kind) made for victims of rape, incest, or risk of life of the mother. The problem though is that these three make up only 0.6% of abortions in the country, which would obviously kill the entire industry, and is also why most people who try to use those cases as a meat shield in defense of abortion won't actually support it.
TLDR: American politics are what they are because money.
Abortion is constitutionally illegal in the USA due to people having a right to life which can not be deprived without due process of law. Furthermore it is religiously amoral in Christianity which is the dominate religion in the USA. Thus anyone that has made a pledge of allegiance or has sworn an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic that has even an ounce of integrity would be antiabortion as would anyone that considers themselves a Christian. It's not a stopgap measure to resolve a temporary issue of an aging population, it is a fundamental value of America.
There are of course phony people that virtue signal by standing for the Pledge of Allegiance and act like they are moved by the National Anthem many who claim to be Christians on the surface that in fact hate God and Country and secretly thirst to slaughter babies that wear masks to cover their inner monster.
In any other country it would be seen as a fringe issue of importance to a small minority. But America being America someone decided it was a right wing issue and so half the country automatically opposed abortion.
If you want more people then increase immigration, bring in parent friendly work regulations, or just pay men more so their wife can stay at home and churn out babies like in the old days.
do Americans just follow what their party says do they not think for themselves and have their own opinion that might be both left and right?
My impression from GAG is no. They all fall into line, if you know their stance on one topic you know it on all of them.
Roe Vs Wade is unconstitutional.
It's amazing how Joey the Clown can't figure that out.
This sea cow says that ultrasound machines aren't real. She says that they were invented by men to trick women into having babies. I guess all the doctors are in on the scam. It's hard to imagine that the good folks of Georgia once voted for her.

Well, from a purely cynical and utilitarian perspective, reducing the number of abortions, however that reduction is brought about, would have the effect of lessening the severity of the coming demographic collapse that many people are now starting to panic over, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if that were the case.
It's mostly men who can't stand the idea of women controlling their own lives, and sad women who can't stand the idea of other women enjoying independence.
Most pro-life people believe fetuses are unborn babies and want to protect them.
Most pro-life people are only pro-life when it comes to unborn babies.
Some pro-life people are anti-abortion and anti-death penalty and pro-supporting children in poverty
opposite! pro choice make fusses about overpopulation, so truly pro kill.
pro life we see the fetus as a helpless human victim who needs protection.
Both, its a political issue with lots of reasons behind it. Abortion is not merely murder it is insanely bad policy for a country with a sub-replacement birth rate.
That is probably, or at least ought to be part of it. The main reason though is because abortion is evil.
The democrats use it as their only talking point in the 2024 election. It is more an issue with the religious right.
No. That's what the gender war and pushing the LGBTQ agenda was for. You can't stop people from having sex but you can try to push them into hating the opposite gender thereby reducing the possibility of them procreating.
🤔🤔. No they want to do something like that.
Because One billion gold project
sorry i dont understand your answer
they want to do something like what?
whats the one billion gold project?
United States of America. You will never stop abortion. Rather, you will spread more contraceptive drugs, encourage women to have their uteruses cut off, and support more homosexuality.
( For exmp
Look at the prices of contraceptive products, prevention, and uterine removal operations. And compare it with baby products)
The Golden Billion Project is to reduce the world population from 8 billion to 1 billion
🤷♀️ Who knows. American isn't my country.
They are just trying to get your vote
Abortion should be illegal in all cases.
