He did genuinely care a lot about Germany and was great at being charismatic. A lot of the people who had met him described it as if they had met a God - he was great at understanding people. By the same token, he was incompetent in a lot of ways, a degenerate, and had a lot of issues he could not cope with largely due to the WW1 I imagine. I would not be surprised if there were other causes too.

He is just a reflection of the time he lived in.

A passionate orator. But that's about it. His regime was one of the greatest con jobs in history. The only thing that made the Nazi's as successful as they were was the might of the German people. We should be thankful that Hitler was as incompetent of a military leader as he was. The German command structure was f***ed. It tied the German commanders hands.

I'm not going to even dignify that statement.
The only thing Hitler did well is he unified a defeated Germany and gave them back thier pride. But it was built on hate and revenge. And as a result his maniacal rule brought the German people back to ruin.
