I think too many people use him as the ultimate boogeyman without realizing he's far from "the worst person in history", that Nazism would've happened with or without him, ignoring what lead to the rise of Nazism to begin with as if Hitler did and planned everything, or realizing that humanity have created FAR WORSE people than him who don't get as villainized or treated as much as a supervillain. Adolf Hitler, for as much of a bad guy as he was, is just the guy people can point at as "the ultimate evil" while ignoring far worse people, like Chairman Mao Zedong, Stalin, and even Genghis Khan.

I'm not excusing what Adolf Hitler did, but people need to get over their smug self-righteousness and realize he was far from the only one, or the worst one, of his kind. Hell, even Xi Jinping has probably killed more people as of 2022 than Hitler did, but no one is wishing death on him or any of the Chinese Communist Party right now. People and their pathetic righteous indignation and misguided moral superiority. "This bad guy is bad, cause people say so, but all the other bad guys aren't bad, cause I'm too ignorant on world history to know any better..."

A terrible person who has done awful things and killed millions of innocent people. I don’t like him and his ideology.

I can’t wrap my mind around the fact that there are people who think that he was a “good leader” and praise him.

Not only that, but he doesn’t even know that German Jews comprised a disproportionately high amount of combat deaths in WWI. So much for his ignorant and historically false claim that German Jews were traitors in WWI, which, by the way, is simply a restatement of Hitler‘s „stab in the back“ libel.

      Insensitive is putting it politely.

But it shows once again how serious and rabid anti-Semitism is, as well as how stupid these anti-Semites are.

My grandmother actually came from Austria where Hitler was born and I think that part of the world, Germany, Poland, Russia etc. during the early 1940's was basically hell on earth (Especially for Jews). Hitler is just an example of what anger, hate, corruption, and dictatorships are capable of when taken to the extreme or even possibly run by a psychopath. Hitler is terrible and he came to power in a time when information was controlled and you could start an all out execution of Jews and the world just didn't even know if it was real or not. Those death camps in Poland are really one of the worst things that ever happened, not to mention the wars and the attacks that happened against all Jewish people in that area at that time.

It's truly scary, but Hitler should be taken as a lesson that human beings are capable of horrible things if given power and left unchecked. The society around them will just jump on the bandwagon and join into the evil if they feel that it's their best option.

He was a puppet, no different to Saddam Hussein or Barack Obama but unlike these 2 figures I think he thought he was doing the right thing and in that regard it is a little strange that he should be the poster child for satan.

Clearly he was wrong and the things he did were horrible, I'm not endorsing or advocating any of his actions or beliefs, simply pointing out that someone who is doing bad things and they themselves know they are doing bad things and also do not care are from a perspective objectively worse than someone who does bad things without knowing they are doing bad things, or without some higher purpose etc.

This is why we have the saying that 'the road to hell is paved with good intentions'.

The concept of skapegoating is also very relevant.

Perhaps we should be examining why we are so enthused to bang on about what a horrible cunt this guy was nearly 80 years after he was defeated and yet for the most part do not give a single thought to all the monsterous cunts who currently run the world and are destroying lives, the world and are killing in our name and have been pretty much every single moment of every day that we have been alive with no signs of ever stopping.

A very hurt child. Probably had parental issues. Humiliated, spiteful, filled with hatred, unstable possibly due to his vegetarian diet and shock from WWI, he had no heart but a shell filled with venom.

So the solution was to blame other people and clear out all people, other than those like him... purify the planet. I can't imagine how many he'd have wiped out if he won the war.

He sure had a hot young girlfriend though and a nice dog!

In terms of economic and industrialization policy, I think his ideas were really good just poorly executed. Fact, Germany was the only world power that wasn't going through a depression, but I think he could have achieved the same results without committing genocide or invading his neighbors.

You have to give him credit for taking over Germany , but you have to say he was an idiot when it comes to military. He did not listen to his Generals and made stupid demands on how to fight the war.

Still if you had to rate most relevant people ever , Jesus would be #1 and Hitler would be #2 .

Typical art school leftist detached from reality going to extremes.

The basic problem with people in those areas is they are soo detached from reality it is easy for them to go to extremes with extremely naive assumptions about how things work and what other people are and do.

@Guardian45 Adolf and his National Socialist Workers Party (fascist) were only just to the right of Stalin and the Communist. From most everyone else's perspective they were far left-wing nut jobs.

Its not generally correct to place nearly the entire rest of the world's political spectrum to the right of both of them in the "Extremest" category.

He had a bad childhood. No wonder why he held so many weird hate views. I don’t think He was an Antisemite per se, but that He was against the Jewish ethnicity, as well as others. I’ve read that you had to have three Jewish grandparents to be considered a Jew. He didn’t care what spiritual beliefs you had. However, He did support anti-smoking and vegetarianism.

@Avicenna Dankeschön! So that’s where I mean — ‘People with three or more grandparents born into the Jewish religious community were Jews by law.’ I find it mad, as rabbinic Judaism is passed through the MOTHER. If the maternal grandmother wasn’t Jewish, whatever spiritual faiths the other grandparents were, neither was the person a rabbinic Jew.

Look up the "Mischling Test". It was possible to be Jewish with as little as one grandparent.

There's some dispute over whether Jewishness can only be inherited matrilinearly, as this historically not always the case. I always felt that was too restrictive an interpretation.

Do I even need to say that he was one of the worst people who ever lived? It's completely obvious.

We need to learn what he did and make sure we never follow his footsteps. Unfortunately, I think many countries are and if you even look at sources like the Holocaust museum, it will be very clear who the people who use Hitler's playbook are.

He was a megalomaniac. Much like Putin, Trump and Bolsanaro. Those personality types will always be around, often in leadership positions. I don't think Hitler was anything special, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I am referring to the way that he hypnotized the people that put him in power. The free healthcare that he promised. Disarming the people. Having them think that the government would protect them. Sound familiar? The V2 rocket. I believe he had something to do with inventing the jet engine. . “The peoples car “. If you never worked on the air cooled VW. You can’t have seen the simplicity of it. Synthetic fuels. Heavy water for nuclear.
Granted, a lot of people were killed. Some just to not need to provide healthcare for. But he advanced the world in technology.
The US brought his science people over here for them to continue their work.
A possible theory is, that Lyme disease was something invented and it escaped the lab.
Granted. Call him, insane, crazy, bloody murderer or any other terrible words. Which they all will fit.
But in the end. The people loved him enough to put him in power so he could do the things that he did!
In the end. Watch who you vote into power!
      History does repeat itself!!!

Putin waited to invade Ukraine until after Biden entered office, so he could take advantage of a new US president. Putin was counting on Biden NOT being willing to deploy American troops on Ukrainian borders. But he DIDN'T count on the US and NATO allies supplying Ukraine with weapons and arms. To their credit, Ukrainian soldiers have become a HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS for Putin. The Ukrainian Military has continued to pummel and retake Russian-occupied lands, driving Russia out. Russian soldiers have abandoned their posts and defied their commanders. In Russia, Putin is attempting to mobilize 300,000 new conscripts, while Russian men flee across the borders and Russian civilians riot in the streets in defiance of Putin. Sounds pretty good to me!

Incidentally, I am NOT a Liberal and resent that insult to my intelligence.

@Bratsondanielle. Arthur Moeller van den Bruck, author of "Das Dritte Reich", said Hitler "is a fanatic in his devotion to Germany. He is undone, though, by his proletarian primitive ways. He does not know how to give an intellectual basis to his Nazi party. Hitler is all passion but lacks sense or proportion. An aspiring but ultimately comical figure full of pathos rather than an actual protagonist".

@Guardian45 my grandfather knew Herr Möeller quite well. He was a crazy person who didn't like Hitler. Herr Möeller was in love with Freűlein Eva von Braun and was eaten up by jealousy when Freűlein Braun stated dating Adolf in the early 1900s in Berlin. He called Adolf a Scheißhund which translated means " shit dog "

Adolf wasn't evil. My great grandfather worked for him. We have one of his paintings at home

@Bratsondanielle. How does your great grandfather's employment and Hitler's paintings have ANY bearing on Hitler's evilness?

@Guardian45 he wasn’t evil. My grandfather has only said good things about Der Führer. Der Führer tried to help a Germany in deep deep problems and in many respects succeeded

@Bratsondanielle. Hitler was Evil PERSONIFIED! Ask the VAST MAJORITY of Germans today, and evidenced by World History.

And for God's sake, get your doctor to review your psychiatric prescriptions and dosages. You're seriously delusional.

@Guardian45 I think it takes a higher IQ and a better education than you have to decide if someone is delusional. And for your information: lots of German people don’t think so. Lots of them won’t say it but lots and lots of Germans don’t agree with you

      @Bratsondanielle.
Oh, this will be interesting! So, what in your estimation is my IQ and education?

True enough, I'm NOT your doctor, so I have NOT diagnosed you. But as a fellow neurodivergent, I can see you exhibit being unable to tell what’s real from what’s imagined. But It's treatable with psychotherapy and medication.

Oh, so you are German, NOT American?

@Guardian45 for your information lots of Americans have German ancestors. Based on what you usually utter on this site I would say you are just above average, not below, but just above average. Don’t get mad. You asked. Your education is impossible to guess of course, but I’m pretty sure you graduated high school
