Cheers! 🤝 One thing also is that whatever semblance of leadership qualities I have is largely based on empathy, trying to deeply understand every individual person's needs and struggles, and looking out for people.

That doesn't really scale so well to an empire. There's just too many people to try to relate to deeply. I think it's a very different type of leadership that's required in those cases, maybe even a bit ruthless, like an emperor sacrificing a pawn. It doesn't fit with my ethics but also my emotional inclinations. I'm a bit of a softie there.
