The white, middle-class family suburban towns are a dying kind. Traditions are dying with them. I would like to see white family towns be preserved to an extent. Home cooked meals, independence (no govt overreach), a good work ethic, and church attendance is always welcomed!

sure, those were built and many destroyed like you said. Now they try to protect themselves... from themselves.

white is really a culture you talk about, and it can be a good one. I've seen bad ones too.

as example, nyc has every culture of the world... but it is ethnically segregated to a large extent. jews here, chinese over there, koreans here and jamaicns there and russians over there. there's nothing wrong with having different white/european ethnic groups in areas.

I like the culture I grew up in, a lot of good in it, I was lucky. but it's gone with the wind.

I will say though there is benefit to other cultures, so you don't want to build up a wall, we can all live together under a common framework.

Yeah, that would not work at all. If you want to preserve culture then you need to invest into the culture, not the people. Open a restaurant chain that specializes in that food for example and also researches historical recipes to improve and continue develop it.

Making insular communities would just stagnate them and eliminate their culture entirely.

We will use country music as an example. There are plenty of talented artists in Nashville that can sing good country music. A lot of them I have encountered, however, are not even southern. One of them was even from Australia. While talented, yes, they are portraying a white southern culture they never lived themselves. It sort of takes away from it. It is kinda like Beyoncé or Rhianna taking up country music, which I believe one of them did.

Ironically, dressing up as an Indian with headgear and tomahawks is considered insensitive and portraying blackface is racist, yet others try to fake white, southern roots and it is embraced. Talk about a double standard?

Just because something can be done badly does not mean something can't be done well.

For example, all those wild west Hollywood movies are made by rich assholes who has never had a day of hardship or honest work in their life, and yet some of them are very much in spirit of that culture. Maybe it is embellished to some degree but it is not necessarily insensitive or derisive.
