I see a lot of “ if there are no servants then how do the important people know they are important “ arguments.
people work hard when they have pride in their work. Right now most people are just cogs in a machine doing work to get money. They don’t like their job which is why “ happy hour” exists. They look forward to not being at work. Work is where most people spend most of their day and the last place they want to be.
People Who are comfortable and bored stay That way. You Can’t work hard in any meaningful way if there is no opportunity.
For people who already have billions they do very Little with all the “ little” people working under and generate more income.
For people on the bottom they have to Work hard Not starve but they are not excel in anything but jt starving- they do not have that option bc they will starve if they Take time to enrich themselves.
do you really think countries With free health care and education the drs snd teachers just don’t care about what they are doing?
Do you think volunteers and rights activists don’t care. Kids work hard in school though they don’t get paid. People work hard at hobbies though they do not get paid. people work hard in community projects bc they care Not bc they get paid. I’ve been volunteering since I was 9 it took up most of my time. I did a lot of good I learned A LOT. I did not get paid most of the time.
There is a natural pride humans take in hard work and community efforts.. This is easily ignored intellectually bc everything gets reduced to money, as if money is _natural_ . Yes it is natural it comes from trees. Trees such have been around far longer Than money.
It looks to me as if most people think the point if Being hound is to earn as much money as possible. Having earnings amounting to anything beyond decent Standard of living, Is just parasitical in my opinion and it crushes the spirit and potential Of any society.
and before anyone Drops “ Communism and authoritarian and millions dead” on my head, Obviously I’m not proposing any of that so save your energy for your job.
I agree absolute power corrupts, and there has been no solution to tust under ANY system to date. no one here can say this is untrue so it’s quite pointless pointing fingers. We’re in quite a crisis as it is. Nothing is working. And in my opinion reducing people to objects and profit Being subhuman - does not bring Out the best in society, It sets hard limits.
Incidentally, no one here Is earning their worth.
you are either getting more then you Produce or one of the many who earn less tusn you produce.
no job oats people what they contribute. It pays people below what they contribute.
tyat is an agreement a five Mayes with any position that taje under the current syatem
none of you are paid your worth
hard Work for decent wages bla bla bla you are still being screwed.. and that is how you have corrupt cops. Bc historically THEIR job has not been to protect and serve the people but to Protect and serve the system that propagates a few over the many.
The powerful in turn Bribe the police , Then in return the police don’t turn their guns on them.
doesn’t matter if there are some genuine do goodies. Policing is based on keeping the masses from reveling against inequality.
That is how even though We theoretically constitutionally , have a right to peaceful Assembly ( I e the right to assemble without being brutalized by authorities) it is never peaceful , There is always an excuse to heat the sh*** out of the assemblers, and often we don’t have a right to it in the first place.
Whatever argument anyone wants to make , the world is corrupt. Claiming Things can’t be different than they are in ways we have not seen yet, bc that would be “ bad” lol OK 👌
I see a lot of reluctance at the idea of All humans Having a fighting chance to excel come to fruition, human to human.
People With opportunity love to talk about” equal opportunity “ and are too in love with the idea of feeling survival they can not see or do not care that equal opportunity currently Does not exist. There is no opportunity in a statement based on Securing poverty.
poverty.. that evil place that “ special” people climb out of it’s never get dragged into... You don’t have a middle class withoit poverty and you don’t get rid of poverty with a ruling class.
Funny to me people the same people who holler against the idea of authoritarian rule ( no argument from me, I’m against it) are yelling it coming from Systems based on authoritarian rule. Your money is protected by virtue of the fact no one is allowed to fight fir actual change. It’s not a right. There are flowery speeches about freedom of speech but it isn’t a right. You get Fired thrown in Jail and Worse.
We already live in a world people are Worried about finding themselves in. I guess There’s a lot of Stockholm syndrome going on.
No matter what anyone here has to say no matter how good or bad, no one here has any power over anything. not even their money. It’s an ILLUSION.. If someone decides to toss or toons cut social security if banks go out. Tough poopers. 🤷♀️

I support a system which gives us equal opportunties, but not equal wealth. Wealth is something you have to earn with your own efforts.
People are corrupt, governments are corrupt.
It has already been tried... communism, socialism. The governments ended up with millions of deaths on their hands and everyone was pretty much equally poor.
People create wealth and fruit... not governments. They just take things and waste.
You have to have wealth to equally distribute it. If the government is going to take it all from you... there is no incentive to strive to create, build, innovate and to produce any fruit. If you know the government is just going to steal someone else's prosperity and productivity and give some to you... that is incentive for millions and millions of people to do nothing.
This is just fairy tale, feel good type of stuff. All that will happen if the government tries to take away peoples freedom and regulate how much of their own labor benefits and earnings they keep, regulate how successful you can be, regulate everything you achieve if you devote your life to inventing and coming up with breakthroughs is that people will not work hard, corrupt people will take over and those in power within the government will be rich and everyone else will be poor... really poor, not this... I have a place to live, A/C, a fridge, food stamps, have a TV and my own phone... but I am poor... I am talking about rationing food and no one at all having enough.
Study history.
This is a dangerous mindset... that the government is going to make this utopia of life and all will be safe and secure and taken care of... they just have to entrust all to this band of "altruistic" people that are "wise" and "selfless" and have "all the answers" and they all work in the government.
Study history. Everyone will be oppressed, poor and slaves to the corrupt government in no time.
Free people is the best solution mankind has come up with up until now.
Yes, I would.
I already live in a country with a low amount of difference.
But I do believe that a society can work with less or no difference or possibly even without money.
Would require a serious rework of the economy thought, and external trade would still be capitalist so said natio would have to deal with that too.
And like it or not there's lessons to learn from capitalism, socialism, anarchism and most other ideologies even if we might not like them.
That said, my dream world is unlikely to exist anytime soon, so in the meantime we'll have to work with what we got, encouraging small companies where workers have a say in their day to day life, regulating the big ones so they won't cause too much damage.
Strong unions, but also predictable conditions for the companies with carrots as well as sticks.
As long as companies are needed you still need to ensure that people *want* to run one in your country.
And whatever happens, always respect that there's things to learn from others, even if you disagree with them and that you're not always right yourself.
And find compromises that as many as possible are ok with even if they might not be thrilled.

So, if I work hard and do better than others, my reward is to have part of my money taken away and given to someone who didn't work at all?
listen I've dealt with the crooks on wall street for YEARS and that's all they are a bunch of fucking manipulative crooks. no amount of money is ever enough for those greedy bastards. And worst they HATE seeing outsiders getting ahead especially using their computer algorithm systems AGAINST them to make money when the hedge fund prick managers drive up the market with their pump n dump then sell a good portion of shares driving the price down once it reaches a certain point. all to rebuy those shares and sell them again to continue growing their profits.
Also when the fucking ceo corporate pricks/cunts don't ask the shareholders for approval on certain projects that cost billions to do and go behind their backs and do it anyways and strip the shareholders of their dividends to make up for their sinking projects while giving themselves big fat bonuses.
Like I've said I've dealt with the corporate pricks and cunts for wallstreet and a lot of ceo pricks and cunts over the years I know how they act and think and it's sickening. And when an OUTSIDER gets ahead it really gets up their ass so much they actually and intentionally crash that entire sector for days on end.Sometimes. When I realize there’s no healthcare, horrible education system, horribly inefficient unreliable transportation systems especially in bigger cities.
And I realized this when I went to
I saw this in Europe. I saw how well the social care system was and astonished by what we are lacking in America. Being a proud American, we have “everything” and opportunity it’s surreal to see can get better. I think we get taught “It doesn’t get better than this”, but if you’re honest to yourself and others you’ll see we in America have a long way to go to get to European standard.A fundamental core belief of mine is a stronger foundation is the only way to build even higher. Imagine hauling water on your back every day and that was your only way of survival you can't build up a better future. Today we have indoor plumbing and build up a lot of shit. Take that logic and think about electricity in homes and even transportation. We built more and more up.
So with these improvements we as a society are not spending our entire day just trying to survive but build up. This is why i think of a universal healthcare is an investment just like running water. As time goes on we need to build it up higher and higher.
So not necessarily a one to one wealth distribution but understanding the poverty line is a huge limitation on innovation. So higher level of prosperity and opportunities is nothing less than an investment of the future.I would like the opportunity to rise above my peers because of doing something special, technical, and unique, etc. I like climbing the latter, and money is a factor in that so that I can have a life that reflects my societal "importance". But in distribution of wealth, money becomes less significant or even important, and it heads towards a socialism situation where you cannot have a pool, not because you can't afford it, but because your social status doesn't allow it. money doesn't control anything any more, and that where "Everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others" comes in. So, no. And yes, I've been poor to the point of living on the streets and now I got $$ in the bank. So, there's that. I'd still be on the streets if it wasn't for capitalism.
Nope. I wish they would have let bad corporations fail though as it’s suppose to be in a capitalist system… Now that they’ve bailed out this zombie corporations repeatedly with market intervention (neo-libralism) we don’t have much choice but to tax the wealthy hard as shit and redistribute it to the lower and middle classes through social entitlements just to fix the mess they have created. At this point it is the lesser evil. If it’s not done, you’ll likely have more revolts for other reasonsa which will make it difficult to run a functioning economy.
No. I couldn't care less about the distribution of wealth, whether "fair" or not. The only thing that is important is that the standard of living for everyone is constantly rising. It doesn't matter if different individuals are rising at different rates. It doesn't matter if different individuals have different amounts of wealth. Hell, it doesn't matter if 1% of the population owns 99% of the wealth, while the other 99% share 1% of the wealth.
As long as every individual is, on average, better off today than they were a decade or two ago, that is growth and progress. And any and all intervention by the state stifles this. What good is equality when everyone is equally destitute?Yeah, no. you can't redistribute money, money is a labour allocation unit and financially that's just not how it works. Even if you take into account that equal opportunities don't exist it's still a bad Idea to try to equalise outcomes. Those systems you are talking about just don't work, socialism can work under a capitalistic system but you never see any of the companies and organisations adapting those systems get perticularly successful from a capitalistic economic point of view (ie productivity point of view). A software engineer can't make the same living a house cleaner does on average.
No... whenever some asshole takes time off from work for whatever reason the rest of us are stuck pulling the slack from their absence - and those people would constantly take time off. Yet, they still get paid for doing nothing and my check was still the same for the greater effort on my part. If I had to live in a country like that I’d join the lazy sons of bitches because what is the incentive to even contribute. It is frankly demoralizing.
Equality of outcome does not remotely equate to equality of effort towards the outcome. We wouldn't have the Internet if people didn't have a material incentive to rise in status. And don't give me any of that "society and technology would evolve anyway because human nature is *insert bullshit claim you only believe out of wishful thinking* " because I can't for a second believe that the same organism that leaves its own children to die because they had sex before marriage and laughs at a man being beaten by his wife while assuming he did something to deserve it is in any way, shape or form capable of genuine collective virtue.
equal wealth for equal work. Why should I start my own business, employ hundreds, work day and night to run the company, and pay my employees that spend half the day playing candy crush on their phones and snapping pics for the gram an equal amount to myself? Distribution of wealth kills innovation. It removes incentive for hard work and inventiveness. Why would someone choose to work harder if they knew they would only get the same as the slacker pot head that calls in sick 3 times a week and continuously is found passed out in the janitor closet?
No, that's socialism.. Hard workin people who probably went sleepless nights to get the money they deserve, just get it taken away from them, and given to possibly a lazy citizen.. I don't support that at all.. I support programs that help people to support themselves..
No. And here is what would happen if theoretically a society were to somehow with pinpoint precision redistribute all wealth equally: Within a year or even less there would be a return to a new equilibrium where some people had more and others less. Human nature is what it is. Some people are smarter and work harder and make better decisions. These utopian ideas never work.
It's more about a fair distribution of wealth and not just paying the bare minimum you can legally get away with. It's about people paying their proper taxes and not using loopholes. It's about not charging extortionate fees.
No, because it is contrary to nature and cannot work.
This is an imbecilic claimed goal of Communism, which is anti-human, anti-science and the creed of the losers and the economically and historically illiterate.
What this idea leads to is poverty and misery for all, maintained by a murderous state terror.Depends on whether the new mandated ammount of wealth is higher/lower than my current level of wealth. If it's higher then maybe, if lower then no.
Also, even if you got rid of wealth inequality we still wouldn't all be equal. There will still be genetic inequality, ie some people are inherently more intelligent, talented, good looking than others and tend to be viewed as superior/get special treatment for it.No, I want to live in a nation where people have incentive to work hard, create businesses and get ahead. What you described is a communist dystopia that has none of those traits. Things are equal in theory but even in such an equal society they can't get around the fact that they need to give more to those with more talent.
People are equally poor, except for the government, they are the ones with the power and they stay in power through fear, intimidation and murder.I havr voted No, because although I do believe that two equily hardworking people eg fireman and top footboller should be rewarded equaly at thr same time I am sick of benefot svoungers who live quiet good life by milking the system. Those who are healthy should be either made to work or starve.
Not necessarily, but I'd like to live in a country where people care enough about those who are poorer and struggling to survive. On the spiritual level, it starts in your heart. On the physical level, it starts with proper nutrition and education, neither of which are readily available to the impoverished.
That's called Communism. That's what the USSR did which is now Russia. It didn't work out (It Collapsed). China is actually somewhat different. Unlike the USSR, China has more of a Capitalistic Economy, but the government is Communist. The USSR was communist with its economy and government.
