Well, chances are that it's missing both books of Macabbes, as well the the books of Wisdom, Sirach, Tobin, Baruch, and Judith and includes other edits that Ol' Marty made, therefore making it not Catholic, so I'd have her return it (not that she'd buy it in the first place).

By the way, it's not uncommon for Bibles to cost that much. Bibles are now and always have been expensive. I recently bought a translation that cost $65.
