How has the current political environment affected you (negatively or positively)?

It hasn't affected me at all. I don't get emotional about politics anymore. I used to get upset about injustice. But it makes my life miserable and I can't change it anyway so now I've distanced myself from it. I still follow politics a little bit but it doesn't change my mood.

I don't follow American politics anymore only the economy a little. It's too boring and repetitive to me. Like Bush and Trump pretty much the same things happened like the same reactions from the media and stuff. Things are just going in a circle there's no real change. The only good thing is that under Trump there was less war which I approve of, but I think that was more luck than his intent.

it's ridiculous. No matter the facts, no matter the evidence, people just won't change their minds. They dig in and refuse to admit they might even be wrong.
Each side doesn't just disagree with the other side, they hate the other side.

It is beyond ridiculous. I wish people understood that if the person in office fails - we all fail. Period. I can't stand the fact that divisiveness is a common occurrence. When was the last time we were united? 9/12 or 13/ 2001. Why? Because everyone does it wrong (I guess). If that job was easy we wouldn't be where we are today. The bigger problem is why do we only have these two idiots to choose from?

Thank you for responding. I served 18 years and was forced into retirement because I was severely wounded. I’m not sure what a letter of honor is but I’m old school and we probably used different terminology. I thank him for his service and thank his supporting cast. It sounded past tense. I hope I’m wrong.

Yes. Letters of condolence exist but not something everyone gets. Most combat related deaths do come with one under certain conditions surrounding the events. I’m sorry for your loss. I flatlined three times in combat so I understand. Much respect.

It is the job! I was part of a team sent to fix problems before anyone knew they were problems and most never made the news. On the same mission, four guys (insurgents) tried to take me as a prisoner and beat the hell out of me. After gaining my composure, it turned into a knife fight and I was stabbed twice. After I handled that situation I went to look for my buddy and he was shot in the neck and bled out. I picked him up and walked out of the house and was shot twice in the chest. Then I was in two explosions. War is ugly and horrible for everyone.
