Andrew Jackson ignored a SCOTUS order to stop the forced removal of Native Americans from their lands in the SE Untied States.

The other 2 branches and levels of goverment act as checks & balances upon each-other by way of refusing cooperation.

Thus the only ruling a president can ignore is one that demands he do something.

A president can't legitimately act against others without the cooperation/conviction of the court and the laws & money of the legislator.

So for example the court Ordered States to issue marriage license's to homosexuals in violation of their laws and Constitutions. As well as 220+ years of American Federal Constitutional history.

The States should be able to ignore this edict, and tell the court to issue and honor its own licenses.
