Sort of. It's a bit like the saying "there are no bad people just bad choices." I am 100% devoted to the promise of equality before the law my country swears to on paper but also wary of those with the legal right to try to dismantle it and working tirelessly to do so because they don't want to believe some people are inherently better.

I agree and boost this. As you're speaking about the USA, our country sounds ok on paper, but not all of our founding ideas were unquestionably great, and it's foolish to hold on to all of them blindly. Our history has shown, as you said, promises about this or that, but the reality is far different and wholly corrupted.

I'm a patriot in the sense that I want my country to change for the better and to keep its promises. If I don't like something that I believe is inherently wrong or evil, I want to change it, not run away. I have never once heard a truly intelligent person say "Love it or leave it" - only foolish sheep say that as they accept any injustice thrown on them by tyrants who ended up bought and paid for, that we ourselves elected.

The person wrapped in a flag, (especially the one carrying a Bible) who is willing to do anything at all for Trump, or Biden or any leader at any time, is an unquestioning idiot and the furthest thing from a patriot.

Your statement is true ONLY when we can agree on what a REAL patriot is !!!
A real patriot protects citizens from "threats foreign or domestic"... that's why we fight against the fascist GOP and so-called "Christian" Nationalists who want to turn the USA into a theocracy. And also against radical left agendas too, which does NOT mean dehumanizing or disregarding the alphabet people. That's not "far left"; they're people.

Just curious.. how much do you actually KNOW about "your country's policies, both foreign and domestic". Are you saying you support the corruption and bribery that runs our government, and how special interests like Big Pharma, Gun Lobbies and AIPAC buy and sell Congressmen and women, and judges? Or are they NOT your enemies?

Do you "defend it from its detractors" by silencing those who tell the truth about government?
