NYC Mayor says "Outside influences are radicalizing our children". Do you think that is possible?

"They are radicalizing our children"? What the hell? I have heard that statement so many times, I am beginning to think that they may be asking Mr. Spock to use the Vulcan "Mind Meld" to 'turn or children into radical Muslims'!

While in college as an undergrad, we had profs' that tried to put across very left - liberal ideas in the classroom, but I was mid 20's and not 18, so I had some ideas of my own about society and what represented "reality' for me and what was bullshit, and was Army ROTC, so not easily 'radicalized' into a bleeding heart liberal - even though the school had a 'college of Liberal Arts" and I thought I would be a social worker - 'FAT CHANCE"

With all that said: Are college students today that 'stupid' or easily influenced as to become "radicalized by outside influences" ? I don't think so.

Who believes that?

You know that that just means your college isn't a training institution, right? "Liberal" isn't meant as a political position: "Such colleges aim to impart a broad general knowledge and develop general intellectual capacities, in contrast to a professional or vocational curriculum."

That said, "rock stars" of today are literally called "influencers", and it doesn't seem to matter if they're influencing people to do right or wrong. That's the big problem.

I wouldn't say my mind is as malleable as it was when I was 13-16. That's when I really opened my eyes about politics and adopted any belief that came my way. Which is why I'm now a centrist.
