What should russia do with them?

russia has around three thousand battle tanks of the 50 year old type called t80.

not using them in ukraine seems stupid but when they used it in chechnya they lost more than 200 in one month... so using them is also fruitless n stupid. that huge investment of a million USD$ each, for 3000, is all loss, so what should they do?

maybe send it to use up 3000 anti tank missiles hoping it will also live long enuf to move? or recycle the metal or what?

Just as a sidenote, many T-80s were built in 2000/2001, so they are not that old. And both Ukraine and Russia are currently producing new (updated) T-80s.

you refer to bvd... built by ukraine not many nor russian. "T-80 Production: The T-80 was accepted in 1976, but production lasted until 1992."

I read a story of parking lots with Sherman tanks or Bradley fighting vehicles. And we’re still making them because of pork barrel spending a Congressman has to include as a rider on every legislation to keep his job by the county that has the Sherman tank contract for its factory. #lovethiscountry

the shermans were used until 1945. in contrast to these t80 that failed in chechnya so not used.

With today’s technology, even new tanks have been proven as useless.

anything that is heavy and slow in today’s world wouldn’t survive any war unless it’s a small special against an enemy with limited resources and experience.
