Yes if you commit a crime you should go to jail, but it's ultimately the jurys decision in this case. IHope trumps supporters don't attempt to harm are even kill the jurrors if there is a guilty conviction

Well why would we prosecute one party for the same thing that we ignore the other party do? Plus we over classify government documents anyway. If anything we should declassify everything save for current spies and their methods. I think that at the end of the day I would happy with a $100 fine for each document in his possession.

Because Trump is claiming to classify stuff with his mind alone, he refuses to turn them over despite NArchives bending over backwards, he was and is a documented security risk, he NEVER would have got clearance except for being POTUS, he made attempts to hide what he stole, he shared secrets with randos, he gave away methods and capabilities to Russia, Iran and Israel. Most people assume that if the President keeps documents from their presidency after it is over. They are defacto declassified.

The National Archives is bending over backwards because they know Trump doesn't have to turn the documents back over to them.

The only reason they are going after him on this is purely political. Every President has done this, along with one VP ( Biden) and one Sec of State (Hillary), that we know of. You complain about Whataboutisms, but our legal system is based heavily on precedence. So if they can get off with zero jail time for actually stealing their documents (since Trump was the President and had the legal authority to possess and declassify those documents). Nevermind Joe storing them improperly in his garage. Or Hillary destroying government property to cover up that she had them illegally. I don't think Trump should be put in jail for it.

I mean, first they came for Trump and I said nothing because I am a libertarian. We don't need unequal prosecutions based solely on political affiliation. That is the most un-American thing you could possibly do.
