Following a previous question about a woman killing her rapist, if somebody killed a child rapist should they go to prison?

I asked the question whether a woman should go to jail if she calls her rapist. Most people said yes, she should go to prison. I personally think rapist should be killed.

So if somebody killed a child rapist, should they go to jail?

I only asked this question because most people said that if a woman kills the man who sexually attacked her should go to jail, most people said that she should go to jail

So if it was a child instead of a grown woman , and killed the person who attacked the child, would you say the same thing that they shouldn’t go to jail?

Everyone should be afforded due process, so unless you're catch the man in the act and are defending the child, it's taking the law into your own hands.

Yes. They should go to jail. We do not live in anarchy. We have law and there is need to prove that somebody is guilty at the court since human rights were created.

It deserves. But it is up to law and fair trial in court to do that. You keep talking about YOUR justice. How do you even know if death is just penalty for rape? (For many, killing is worse than rape, so even ancient Hammurabi's law "An eye for an eye" would not apply here.) Where is the evidence? What about false accusations? What about other factors, like sanity, age circumstances?

Only God can issue truly just verdicts. For humans... well, kings and emperors also dispensed justice at whim before human rights and long before codification of law, but they often claimed that their power came from the grace of God.

You must understand that your whim, your personal worldview and sense of justice and your emotions do not necessarily make something morally right. And it is even worst when we adhere that to the applicable law.

If you want it other-way, you have to be a a ruling sovereign, proof that your justice is superior and establish your own law. However, you probably lack that proof as much as any proper legitimization of your authority.
