A lot of folks over the age of 50 will be a pro-Israel majority. And most folks 40 and under will be pro-Palestine in the US. This has to do with where people get a majority of their news information and people who tend to gravitate towards social media that are popular with younger folks like tiktok will see a lot of pro-Palestine media, with many creators being shamed for not using their wealth and influence to help Palestinian families escape safely from Gaza as Israel keeps bombing them. Meanwhile older generations tend to stick to what they know so they’ll get their news from mainstream sources like CNN and Fox and MSNBC if not just facebook, which are all very pro-Israel sources and see Hamas as a group of Islamic extremist terrorists.
It’s worth noting that a very big part of the reason that the US government has taken such an interest in tiktok to the point they want to ban it has to do with the fact that it’s not a pro-Israel feed that Americans are receiving as America is funding a lot of the weaponry that’s going to Israel during this time.
