Why is it often the ugly people that have the biggest egos?

For now, will assume you are not trolling, often those who are not as perfect as you, face hardships In life, they sort of three options, to let life get them down and live through life in a depressed state, do nothing and ignore it, just get on with life.. or they might rebel against judgmental people and say bugger it, let’s live life and yeah they may have a large ego, but so what?

does it matter if a person has a large ego as long as they do not hurt others, or do as some do call them ugly and stupid, which does hurt others.

I considered that and honestly, I don’t look down on ugly people. I don’t get why so many of them have bigger egos than more attractive people.

I don't think they have bigger egos. Speaking as a fat, short, bald guy myself, we often act like we're okay with the way we are to mask our insecurity. The only shot a lot of ugly people have at social acceptance is by showing confidence, and since they usually have to fake it, some people can overcompensate with that. Because if the way you act reflects your low self-esteem, nobody wants to be around you.
