It’s going to be at times neither at times a bit of both. One thing is which gender cares the most about their own gender, girls win that one, it’s an area guys suck in, we tend not to give a fuck about each other. Which is why I would hedge on neither for the answer to this question.

Men would and probably more likely care about women’s opinions because women are the deciding factor in whether or not they get to have sex. That decisive power is pretty much exclusively in the hands of women and there is evidence to suggest that when this is not the case and that decisive power is given to men instead, that society with that difference doesn’t last longer than 6 generations. It usually collapses or just implodes.

No, it’s not, but it’s a big chunk of why men - on average - would care more. There are so many masculine identities directly tied to one’s ability to get a girlfriend, sadly.

Women have learned to have to. I think this is an evolutionary result of men needing to feel certian things to get their 'thing' hard, and so women had to work to develop the skills to decode it based on body language, tone, topic, etc...
