If you could change 3 things about the government as a whole, what would those things be?

Me? And this applies to ALL government. Idc what political party we’re talking about.

1. Term limits for ALL politicians. And by term, I mean any position applies. Thus, a person cannot become a governor and then become a senator and then run for president. Nah. Two terms of any position of your choice. That’s it. No more career politicians.

2. Put a max cap on age of anyone running for any elected position to 60. Given the average age Americans are retiring it BLOWS MY MIND that we got fuckers that are basically on their death bed in office.

3. Hold elected officials accountable to their statements, for example. If the majority of the country shares a similar concern, and say any elected official denies that the particular issue exists, or gaslights? They’re held legally accountable. This will put an end to politicians doing typical politician bs. Lying to the American people to their faces.

Number one for me would probably be to outlaw lobbying, cap corporate donations, and I’m not exactly sure how you enforce it, but there needs to be some way to prevent former politicians getting sweet no-show jobs AFTER their political career as a bribe-without-direct-bribery. Basically make sure being a politician means being more-or-less poor, during and after. Occupations in the political sphere cannot be lucrative or be an understood stepping stone to something lucrative, that leads to poorly-guided and outright corrupted legislation. I only want people making laws who aren’t motivated by greed and prosperity, legislating truly from the goodness of their own hearts. They say DC is “Hollywood for ugly people”, and we just need to completely wipe out anything that smacks of that. Money, power, and fame need to be eliminated from the equation. Only the benevolent need apply.

2. Get religion the FUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK out of politics. Not a lot to say here besides “not everyone is a Christian, so we can’t have legislation or social norms informed by things rooted in Christian beliefs, just like we can’t have Sharia Law, because not everyone is Muslim (or whatever sect of Muslims who observe Sharia Law, I don’t know if that’s all-encompassing in Islam or not). So the holy rollers need to chill in society, and really shouldn’t be a part of the political spectrum if they’re unable to keep their personal beliefs personal, and not use them to bulletproof themselves from critique (they think) when they try to impose them onto others in various restrictive or discriminatory ways.

Third…. I’m really starting to question the concept of “states’ rights.” If we just had a few states, maybe. But there are FIFTY. This country is huge, and at some point, I think it’s counterproductive, both in that: it leads to ultimately divisive self-isolation that I think warps people’s minds into this “our way or the highway” highway mentality when we aren’t forced to live with one another and compromise, and here we are talking with varying degrees of seriousness about another civil war, or a national divorce…That’s FUCKED; and also just in that with 300M+ people, and to have some people tell it, the linchpin of order in the world, and maybe others would say the hopeful gold standard for decency in the world, I really, REALLY think it makes much more sense for us all to be pulling the wagon in the same direction. If California does this, and Texas does that, Florida does a third thing, Pacific Northwest does their thing, the South and Midwest have their styles, the Northeast doing something else….. I mean, that’s chaotic. I know we’re conditioned to fear centralized government, but I’m not ready to say strong centralized government can’t exist without tyranny…. and I mean legit tyranny, not “government said I had to do a thing, but muh freedom” tyranny😂

Definitely on board with you about term limits, and age limits. Shout out to Diane Feinstein for attaining “Corpse” level before actually dying, and of course big up Mitch McConnell’s jowls, lmao.

Also, some kind of development of truth serum and mandated injection for any politician…nay, every political CANDIDATE…so we can get a goddamn straight answer outta these fucks. Nothing makes me want to choke someone through the screen like when a reporter asks a direct yes/no question, and the politician won’t definitely say what they support either way because they don’t want to potentially lose that single-issue voter out there that only cares about that one topic. So they just tap dance around and sort of say what they think but not really, and leave enough wiggle room to be like “well, I never actually SAID I supported that….”🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Congress can't work for any company their vote affect. This essentially makes it impossible for them to work anywhere other than in self-employment, which is will be capped.

Congress can't use previous retirement planning but must enter a pension retirement fund that provides a monthly income that is five times the average citizen's income.

We still want top government officials to be paid well so that they can't be bought out by foreign countries. We also want the average income of everyday people to be as high as possible. True civil service can get done as the primary goal with retirement on the line for it. so that the system isn't rigged and everyday people are taken care of. That's my goal.

Congress should not be able to know what the stock market is going to do the next day - then have family members or someone else run out and buy stocks that they know are going to make them millions like Nancy Pelosi did with her husband.
He would buy the stocks she told him were going to go high, he'd buy plenty of stocks and put an "S" on them for spouse but they'd be in his name.
I call it insider trading but Congress person 's know in advance and they need to not let them know that information.
That's how they all become millionaire's and billionaires.

I guess that's one of the fridge benefits of working for the government. They always find a way to cheat on everything, including the presidential elections!

Irony is if the terrorists had succeeded in clearing out the countries leadership back in 911 it would have only done a world of good for the country.

1 - Ban all ''parties''

2 - Don't allow access (or influence) to a person's private life arrangements and views

3 - Make the income of each participating member their ONLY! source of income - and based on the results that these participants generate.

No corruption, every politician/party must make it publically available who is donating to them.

Take responsibility, whatever law you vote for, they must live under the same conditions, so if they vote for a lower minimum wage, there may be a chance the politician will recieve minimum wage as well.

Clear cut between the three pillars of democracy, judges, police and lawmakers can't have any influence on one another, no one is above the law.

Term limits would have been helpful in the past, but nowadays the party owns the office, no matter who's actually in it. Obama has been running Biden, and will run the next person in office, giving him a total of 20 years as de facto president. If Pelosi had been given term limits when she began, she would have been the behind-the-scenes boss of the next 7 people holding "her" office over her 37 year government career.
