Assassination attempt on Trump! Thoughts?

For me its primarily a reminder of other left wing violence, Pim Fortuyn in my country was a really admirable politician but shot dead in a country that has no guns (Yes, those advocating for gun bans on the back of this have no right of speaking this happens regardless since those lunatics always manage to get a gun trough illegal means or use different weaponry). The politician I support was assaulted multiple times. Another right wing dutch politician requires permanent security although in his case thats more from islamists rather than leftists. If you look at the UK its the reform party that also had violence towards them, before that it was UKIP that had violence.
Name me one example of this happening to a left wing politician. Yes they get death threats sometimes, but I have never seen actual violence. And no JFK doesn't count, the entire political spectrum was different back then and that one had multiple shooters so it wasn't a lone gunman like it was here.
The assassination attempt I am pretty sure wouldn't have happened if Trump could be stopped at the ballot box. Since the guy registered republican despite donating to ActBlue he clearly only did so to try and stop Trump at the primary. Meanwhile this happening after Biden being so clearly unviable as a candidate (And allegedly saying "Its time to put trump in a bullseye") shows that the attacker had no other hope to stop trump.
Funny how Trump doesn't realize how his own rhetoric has enflamed people over the past 9 years. He tells supporters at his rallies to beat up anyone who heckles him and he will pay the attorney's fees, and your bail if you're arrested. Why is it surprising that a non-supporter would take up arms against him? Why does he expect there's a line you don't cross when he crosses them ALL the time with expected impunity?
Meanwhile, this a the perfect distraction from his name being all OVER the Epstein files (remember, the guy he barely knew?) and his junkets with underage girls. How much perversion and how many crimes does he need to commit for the cult to recognize how depraved he is?
My thoughts are simply that he's reaping what he sowed; violence, hatred, division, a disregard for the law. "Let's Go Karma!"
Obviously, you maga's take "bullseye" to mean as a target to be physically shot at rather than as a metaphor. But when Trump says you have to take back your government, after losing the election, that's just a metaphor, right?
Go do your homework. His remarks about beating up the hecklers and paying their bills are easily findable on the internet, as is all his other BS. I don't have the time or crayons to explain this to you.

Go away maga-fascist.
Lots of oddities:
Incompetent secret service not seeing someone on a building that close when a witness said he was up there for 3-4 entire minutes? Not having a person up there to begin with?
The same witness who was being ignored by police and secret service when telling them a person with a rifle was climbing up there?
Shooter is a registered Republican
Trump's using it as a photo opp and fistpumping the crowd within 30 seconds? Not a natural reaction to something unexpected and life threatening.
Nevermind forget that link that's someone pretending to be him.
However he did donate to a progressive organization and probably registered as republican to vote against Trump in the primary.
You're allowed to openly carry a fire arm in PA. I don't get why people are hysterical and blaming the Secret Service etc. for not doing anything after people pointed it out.
It's the gun laws you people voted for. Stop crying about the consequences now.
Ohh? So you're not upset about someone trying to shoot someone else? Funny. This is America, suck it up.

Political violence of any kind is NOT welcome here in the United States of America, I’m proud of the Secret Service quickly & efficiently neutralizing the threat. As a Biden voter and former Trump supporter, this behavior and division is vile. We saw what could happen from January 6th and today, political violence is evil. We settle elections by voting, debating, discussing NOT by violence. Local law enforcement are analyzing everything about the shooter’s life, motive, weapon, etc. I will not comment on opinions or anything, I go by facts so I don’t feel like just saying whatever though I will say I learned about it on the ride home and prayed for Trump (just as I prayed for him when he was hospitalized for Covid19)
Regardless if Biden or Trump is your guy or whatever we have to have peaceful discussion NOT violence. F#ck the shooter and hope he is in Hell. I hate all violence!
Trump's luck in life is absolutely incredible to the point of unbelievability.
If someone was to write a Hollywood screenplay with a character who lived the exact life Trump has, Hollywood producers would laugh and throw the script out saying "No one could believe this crap!"
Anyway, back to the assassination attempt, I've been telling my wife for months that someone was going to try and kill Trump. This was not unforeseeable.
Fuck Trump he's a wanker deserves to be hit am not from America but am no happy with this either racist basterd
My thoughts:
I don't wish him dead. I abhor, loathe, hate and despise #Trump i just hope for a moment that he felt terrified, vulnerability and dread. He deserves that for all he has done to make others feel the same feelings
Promote guns get shot. The logic make sense really. Was only a matter of time.
I can equally match that with him not taking away guns though, and not doing that.
Along with his choice of not wanting to spend money on child safety when it came to guns.
Maybe it's more nuanced for sure but I bet anything he won't get up on stand saying 'Guns are wrong' as he knows it would lose him right winged votes.
Not really. A president can for sure try to make it happen. It's ultimately up to congress correct.
But a president can make a campaign for the system to be changed.
As everything in a way is up to the people, otherwise it would be a dictatorship if laws can't be changed or adapted.
And he for sure could promote against guns at his rally's and make it an issue he has within his campaign.
People's views don't change in a night. It would take US a long time maybe over 100 years but to change those views you need constant promotion and rejection of the other.
And I know America haven't had one in a while but a good leader puts the needs of the country first not the votes.
That's one of the main problems in politics is doing stuff just to please the crowd rather than standing ground on real issues.
On top of that then been surprised when those things that please the crowd aren't actually good ideas, most people don't critically think on the whole but more what benefits themselves.
May, 14 2024 Assassination attempt on Slavakian PM Robert Fico
School shootings are very rare and make up a fraction of gun homicides. We wouldn't have these problems if we had safety measurements at the schools. That is literally the reason the transman didn't go to the original school she was going to target. The first one had to much security. Also school shooting didn't start happening until Columbine, so real question is what changed in our culture that needs evaluated and reset.
I said England not Slovakia.
It's gonna happen at some point somewhere even with Strick guns laws but the point is and that which can't be denied it's not a thing that it is as America.
There is a reason why it's such a known topic for America and heated debated, while it's not in these countries right?
School shootings started happening way before Columbine and were on a steady rise way before that you need to look more into that one.
And yeah how you change culture around guns is by what we do making them unfathomable to even have. Come to UK and see how we live without fear of needing a gun or even have that as convo it's not a thing in our culture at all to say some shootings happen here and there.
And yup there is for sure a knife problem, and school stabbings. But sadly a knife is not like a gun. Guns are not needed, while knifes are needed to cut many things besides humans. And we do have many laws around knifes it's not as if we want people carrying them which is different to the way America promotes guns.
Guns are a tool they are need for many things, knifes are tools, cars are tools. Everything is a tool. You seriously don't think Guns are needed when the are the best tool to defend yourself from violent criminals. Also you tell that to a 90lbs woman that is being assaulted by a 180 man.
Firearms are used in self defense situations up to half a million instances a year.
As for England vs Slavakia, what does it matter the major of Europe all have similar laws restricting civilians from firearm owners.
Guns are not used for anything but killing. So not it's not the same.
Unless you can explain ah well guns are actually used to drive me places, and are used to open boxes or cut food lol.
And no need to say hunting because we all know that ain't really a thing and is actually much better done with other methods and better tools out there. That's not a real reason to keep them.
Self defense is also not a reason, that still align with just killing a person. There are nonlethal ways to protect yourself.
And nope we really don't think that over here at all, it's quite amazing how different it is in that aspect.
It matters a lot, as I don't know anything about them.
I know a lot about America and England though. And the bounds of using one odd example from any EU country is so cherry picking I mean come on.
We both know that it's less of thing here and the reason why is obvious.
Cherry picking I literally just searched assassination attempts in Europe. You were the one relegated it to one country that's a tiny little island with 55 million people to 333 million people. That is bigger and more populated than multiple countries combined in Europe.
You definitely haven't seen where even handguns can't stop criminals even when shot, so how well you think a less lethal will do?
That's the definition of doing it.
And no mine was very different I used my own country as example because I have the most knowledge about it of course not because I just randomly searched for one example to use.
And no doubt it would be harder to regulate in America never said it wouldn't be nvm the fact they've already screwed up on that part so even harder. But culture is a big factor too. And that would be a bit easier but again it would take a long time.
Just because one thing is harder don't make it impossible or a bad idea.
If handguns can't stop the criminal then where does that debate go to? Should everyone just have grenade because hey if a gun can't stop them give them a grenade instead might work. Or if that don't work the next thing?
That's not rationale there has to be a limit.
Which Americans think is Lethal is the limit but we think Nonlethal is the limit.
You don't see me fearing for my life because of that, almost like that limit is enough for now. Maybe one day in a hypothetical future it won't be but the point is right now it is.
Honestly I think Americans need to come live in such countries or visit and see how we don't worry about any of that compared to how you seem to obsess over it.
I've been to US and seen Chicago, I know guns are the problem there and sadly they can't restrict them enough because it's easy to get guns from one state to another so even if one state is loose on it the rest are.
That place I would fear for my life and why? Because everyone has guns.
Biden wants to strip Trump of Secret Service protection. I think this was staged.
I just saw the breaking news on AOL. I’m glad he’s fine he had blood from the ear Trump two people are dead
the intelligent, rational people are waiting for more details to come in before jumping to conclusions
Another fake event
Yeah….. that’s a very critical and compelling analysis you have there…..
He probably did, but it would not have shown, since he's wearing old men diapers.
But no, it's conspiracy theory. It wasn't staged... but the sad results are there anyway: it's already being used by some trumptards to call for revenge, absolute power, party bans and the destruction of democracy.
@Danzigdawson Yeah. I’m sure a “staged” event involves the killing of an actual supporter and a bullet mere inches from his head.
For something to have been staged, the other guy would have to know about it or else there was the risk of actual assassination.
Not to mention who the hell would agree to the plan “yeah shoot the bullet inches from my head”
Instead of “just shoot the bullets in my general direction, but be sure to miss”
Inside job. Read my recent post.
Truly horrible, and I am praying for everybody that was involved, Trump’s safety and recovery, and for the future of our country
I have ecpected that for some month already. The leftist want to hinder Trump entering presidrncy again for any means.
I get thinking Trump is an asshole, but at the end of the day, who gives a shit? Just look at the alternative. Joe Biden? Seriously? Personality does not matter. Results matter.
We need to ban the democrat party.
Trump would be dead if his head had been slightly oriented differently. The bullet or shrapnel hit his ear and missed his brain by less than an inch.
Yeah, I better leave it alone. Already COST ME 7 POINTS.
God literally saved the 47th president of the US in the future.
People are super crazy. I'm glad he's fine
Sad, praying for the victims
Makes me think of Revelations 13:3
Democrats are sore losers
Staged! He is so desperate 🤣🤣🤣
so staged with live bullets n a murdered a victim before shooter got killed.
but 3/5 democrats near me, had similar or harsher responses. very low down democrats.
@strateguy632 Says a lot about the intelligence of the voter bases.
The shooter should have done a better job.
Surprisingly I just found out.
Shooter was a registered republican
