The family of a Buffalo Township man has identified him on social media as the victim killed Saturday evening during a shooting at a rally for former President Donald Trump in Butler, in which Trump was injured and two other spectators were critically injured.

In separate social media posts, Corey Comperatore’s family mourned his loss.

“The PA Trump Rally claimed the life of my brother, Corey Comperatore,” posted Dawn Comperatore Schafer on Facebook. “The hatred for one man took the life of the one man we loved the most.

Why were people allowed to sit behind him or any politician in a rally at all? I'm not blaming Trump for that but considering the ridiculous mental health crisis and gun violence we have in this country, it is stupid for people to be sitting behind him because of what happened to the poor man who was murdered.

Anytime luck comes into play, which is what happened to Trump, people tend to say God had something to do with it. He was lucky and I'm genuinely sad for the Trump supporter who died, and don't wish Trump to be assassinated despite disliking everything about him. Trump will use this for political gain and saying God saved him plays to his Christian audience.

I'd like to understand more about the maga supporter that was interviewed that they told police they saw the shooter and they didn't react fast enough. This is crazy to me they didn't prevent this and no I'm not making it a conspiracy. I think they didn't have enough safety measures to allow this to happen.

First of all God made everyone and everyone has a purpose. Being this guy died shielding his daughters from danger perhaps that was his purpose. His daughters may very well grow up to do great things. Being a firefighter he’s saved many people’s lives. I think saving his daughters and wife being the last people he saved is quite fitting.

Second of all yes this guy was young compared to Trump. Like I said earlier this guy could’ve had his purpose being to prolong his daughters’ lives. I believe Trump is a great president and God saved him to become president again.

Third of all God made everyone and everyone belongs to Him. He decides if you keep living or not. You may think it’s unfair but that’s how it is.

How did he shield his wife and kids if he was shot before anyone realized that shots were fired? The bullets travel faster than sounds. Also rifle rounds would likely move through one person and into the next, possibly even through two people, before stopping.
