Why do animals get euthanized quickly but rapists deserve to live?

Not just rapists but pedophiles, abusers, etc. Why do they get spared? Our society is fucked up. It’s why I hate the human race so much.

Animals get euthanized because they can't follow the human code of morals, nor would they ever understand it, they only follow their natural instincts to prey on their lunch or protect their territory. If they've slaughtered, they'll do it again, and they're not "sorry", they have no concept of remorse.

Humans generally believe we all have an intrinsic and spiritual value, even when we break the rules and do immoral things. We don't believe in devaluing a human being as if they were worth nothing, and we don't act in retaliation to their immorality. We simply have a system of consequence, for breaking the moral code and committing a crime. Only a punishment which "fits" the crime, and is not a barbaric one. It's just human nature to think revenge is justice, but it's not. As people often say "two wrongs, don't make a right".
