Why do so many Americans believe the Democratic Party to be a socialist party?

It isn't! And I say this as someone who knows, first-hand, what it's like to live in a socialist country. I remember the USSR. You know, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Now that was socialist.

Central planning of the economy, fixed prices, five-year plans, collectivisation, state control of essential services (ex. rail, power), bureaucratic control and oversight. That's what socialism is. Bernie Sanders is NOT a socialist; he's a millionaire. Millionaires, by definition, cannot be socialists. At best they can be hypocrites, but that's about it.

So Yanks, please, just stop it! No more of this "the Democrats are socialists" bullshit! They're not. They're controlled by Blackrock and other corporations. They're paid (bribed) by them to do their bidding. That's not socialism at all, it's corrupt capitalism.

The Democratic party isn't socialist. It went full neoliberal during the Clinton administration. Neoliberalism is Mussolini's definition of fascism - "Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power.”

The Democrats want money and power. They are connected to the global banking system and globalists who are trying to achieve a One World Government/New World Order in which the wealthy monopolize every resource including minerals, fuel, food, water, products, and human labor.

The disdain the principals described in the Declaration of Independence - "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Instead of answering to "the People", they want to dictate to their "subjects".

The only similarity to socialism is the goal of a CCP-style of government with total top-down control. The rich get richer and the common people are treated like factory farm livestock.

The Republican party is pretty much on the same page, too.

Because the Democrats are opposed to free markets, love the heavy hand of the regulatory state, love censorship that benefits them, love crony capitalism. and force their agenda on everyone else. People can tell they're totalitarians. They may not get the correct appellation, but they're correct in noticing that the Democrats are not on the side of freedom.

Democrats are not social democrats or even socialists- that would mean they support and promulgate policies that at least some of the time benefit everyone, or at least a very large number of people. That isn't the case.

Average Americans don't know much about the world, but since they grow up being told "'Murrica number one!" everybody else's political models and policies must be worse, right? So, the most simple form of - presumably - insulting someone proposing a different set of policies, is "that's socialist!". It's practically the adult version of "that's gay!" used on middle school grounds.

The Democrats are more Corporate Fascist than anything else. But I will say that the Democrats advocate for policies similar to how the CCP has integrated with corporations in China.

The Squad’s Green New Deal was quite capitalistic. And not very socialist. Only that the govt provided tax incentives, investments etc. Overall, the govt wouldn’t have controlled much.
