I think there are only 2 types of people in America. One is lonely and the other is people who pretend that they are not lonely

Well with each one of those type of people they have a choice to make either sit down in the chair and remain lonely or get up and go do something and live life it's a choice be who you want to be don't wait for somebody to make that choice for you because they will never show up you have to find them you have to find life you have to experience it if you don't it's going to be a lonely day

No, not really. Just look at all the people having great times at restaurants, the beach, amusement parks. So many people enjoying each other’s company. You are in Canada so you only know what you read from… lonely people. I know someone who recently married a Canadian girl. They have a daughter now along with a house and a dog.

I disagree. I've been single my entire life and I'm not lonely. If you think I'm lying to myself, fine. But i think the opposite. I think there are too many people today that think being paired up determines thier worth. And I think that's just sad. I may be single, but I have many people that care about me. I feel this is PART of why society is so f***ed up. Because people are with people they don't really want to be with, only mildly value, and it shows in everything they do. I think it's better to be single for the right reasons then with someone for the wrong ones.

Yep. We keep moving more and more away from a sense of community and human connection. Life is completely different than the 90s. I'm still trying to keep it alive, but my kids will never have what I had. Trust me, I try more than anyone I know to maintain a social life for the kids. It's just not automatic like it used to be.

Yup. Everyone in North America seems to be disconnected more than ever due to social media. It's funny that we have the ability to communicate to people around the world, but it's the most cold society has felt socially through history.

Unless you are in the Lone Star State then there is nothing, but loneliness to go around.

Yes, there is a book called "Bowling Alone" that deals with the de socialization of America. A great majority of Americans do not have one single person that they can talk about personal issues with.

Oh I'm not American but the idea of being able to disappear into the forests and mountains it's very appealing to me. Here in the UK it's hard to be more than 10 miles away from people or a farm and hiking track..

Now a days if you are female, playing hard to get is a failed method. You need to be the aggressor in order to find a mate. A male retitiring at 55 years old is a possible goal.
