AThere are many lonely people in apartments or villas. It is as if we are stuck between four walls. We are starting to become lonely, unhappy, insecure people.
Anonymous(30-35)1 yAs an unhappy lonely person myself I would say yes personally. My only friend that's not on the internet and hundreds of miles away is my dad. It's difficult, I get maybe 1-2 hugs a month on average from family and I don't get to talk to people or share things I like with people anymore. It might sound stupid, but the lack of touch is kind of soul crushing. I'm not even talking about sex.
Things like hugs, kisses, cuddling shoulder rubs etc. are all things I've either never experienced or barely did and in most cases, it didn't go well even when it happens. At a certain point you get desperate for someone to touch you affectionately to the point it becomes unbearable.Even if I found myself in a situation where someone would hug me, at this point I'd have to be careful because I genuinly feel like If someone gave me a hug that wasn't my mom or dad, I'd be so overwhelmed I'd probably break down crying.
It just gets exhausting I can't overstate how much I just wish I could find a partner if for no other reason then I didn't have to sleep alone at night. Sex is overhyped in my opinion, but I do crave the affection that comes with a relationship, but I've given up.
I spent years trying to date and with my life being... well my life I finally gave up after over a decade. After my ex I just couldn't take the damage the constant rejection and emptiness was doing to my brain. I honestly don't blame them for turning me down I'm not an attractive option as a partner in really any way and with the state of dating in this modern world with how many handicaps I have it's just wasted time.
The final straw was the one time I got genuinly lucky by some miracle and found someone willing to give me a genuine shot, but it didn't work out. We didn't have a fight or anything she just ghosted me after she told me we should separate.
I wanted to stay friends, but she was worried her feelings for me would make her want to get back together with me and I think she just didn't believe our relationship could work for a lot of reasons that were out of both of our control. Ultimately, she broke my heart and four years later I still think of her almost daily and miss her.
When she left me the only way I can describe it is that something important in me just finally broke and I just couldn't do it anymore. The four-year anniversary of our breakup was a week ago and I've been a mess about it for a month so far and still am.
It probably sounds stupid and over dramatic, but she just made me feel a certain way I don't think I ever will again. I basically fell in love with her immediately for a ton of reasons and when I say she was beautiful I'm not talking about her body in that context, but she was also incredibly attractive too. I should have known it was doomed to fail it was too good to be true.
Ultimately, I think I can't move on because most woman in my life including family often treat me like shit and she was the first and only woman in my entire life that made me feel "appreciated" and was kind enough to take a chance on me. I know my mom and sister love me but until her I'd never had a woman actually "appreciate" me except for her.
My mom won't say it but she's disappointed in me because I wasn't successful in life, and I think part of her is ashamed of me because of my mental problems with my OCD ADHD Bipolar too. Frankly, she shouldn't have had kids. She wasn't mother material Ironically like her own mother.
She was also just as a matter-of-fact bad genetic material and my dad didn't have great genes either. I probably have these severe mental issues because I'm inheriting it from both sides of the family my grandma on my mom's side is 100% bipolar OCD and ADHD and my grandma on my dad's side was probably bipolar, but she was also definitely the second biggest bitch I've ever met in my life.
She was a nasty awful spiteful, hateful, narcissistic, self-righteous, racist, homophobic, judgmental asshole. I was always different for as long as I can remember but we didn't figure it out until I was about 12.

Yes, because social media and the internet tell people that you need to 100% perfect.
Social Media, the Internet and their best friends gossiping are telling women that a Man is always useless
- if he has no Ferrari
- is less then 6 ft (183 cm) tall
- makes less than 6 figures (100,000$) a year
- has less than 6 inches (15,2 cm)
- has no sixpack
- wants to have sex daily
- doesn't want to have sex daily
- wants sex
- wants no sex
- wants children
- wants no children
- Has doesn't of side chicks
- Has no side chicks
- Is a virgin
- Is no virgin
- Had only a few women before
- Had many women before
And social media, the internet and incel community tells men that women should be avoided if
- If she can't cook
- If she can cook
- If she can pay her bills herself
- If she can not pay her bills herself
- wants to have sex daily
- doesn't want to have sex daily
- wants sex
- wants no sex
- wants children
- wants no children
- Has dozens of side guys in her Friendzone (slut)
- Has no male friends (she must be weird or crazy)
- Is a virgin (she must be a horrible person or ugly)
- Is no virgin (she must be a slut)
- Had only a few Men before (she must be bad in Bed)
- Had many Men before (slut)
So the internet constantly brainwashes people into breaking up or avoiding relationships under absolutely all circumstances. Like You want sex? Red flag ! You want no sex? Red Flag ! You have large breasts? Red Flag! You have a flat chest? Red Flag ! Red Flag ! RED FLAG !!!
People are constantly gaslighting themselves, their friends, their family and random strangers on the internet and they Constantly try to ruin their own relationships or try the get other people to talk them out of dating someone because the internet tells them "they always deserve better".
And therefore more and more people are doing what they heard in the internet and more and more people are living lonely because of this bullshit.
I have also giving up romantic dating. Like completely. Just casual hookups and friends with benefits for me. If it get serious? fine. If it doesn't? I don't care anymore. I'm also happy to stay single for the rest of my life. I have neither the time nor the will to argue with someone why I don't have a Ferrari or why I'm not as rich as Bill Gates...

As a relationship coach, spreading a bit of joy is my jam! From what I've seen, there's definitely a trend where people feel more isolated—probably thanks to technology and the hustle-bustle of life. Remember, connection is key. Try to sprinkle some love and flirtation in your day-to-day interactions! A genuine smile or wink can go a long way to brighten both your day and someone else's! 😉 Don't let those walls keep you down, let love and connection truly shine! 🌟

1 yThe reason is because people are choosing to be single because they can't overlook a few qualities in other people. The majority of people date and are always on the lookout for something better when they should really be focused on what's right in front of them

Anonymous(36-45)1 yI'm alone, but not unhappy.
I've found that it's better to be by yourself, than stuck in a relationship that's making you miserable, and I've heard the same sentiment echoed by many other people.
Relationships just aren't worth it, anymore. There's too many selfish, entitled people out there that only care about themselves, at the expense of their partner.
It's better to be alone, and take care of yourself, than putting your time, attention, and effort into someone that gives you nothing back.

1 yIt could be. For me it's different because I don't have the ability to drive & stuff so I kind of can't really help that I'm inside the house most of the time. The only upside to it is that I'll be excited to go almost anywhere. I'm glad I have the internet because if I didn't, I'd be talking to nobody at all.
20 Reply 660 opinions shared on Relationships topic. There are definitely a lot of things working against us in todays society when it comes to connection but I think with time, self improvement and experience people will find their way. It's more complicated today but we can do it, I believe. :)

1 yLike Richa322 already pointed out, social media.
A lot of people don't go out anymore if you can have so called "connections" from the comfort of your home. Without the realization that they are actually making themselves more lonely by the day.
Its time that people put down their phone, look each other in the eye and actually talk to one another without pre made assumptions and get to know one another. And that they accept that you dont have to be liked by everyone and not everyone has to like you but still deserve respect.00 Reply- 5.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic.
1 ynope. we actualy continuously measure this pretty much globally through social surveys that are held every year on national levels. and we're actually on an upward trend globally. there may of course be regional variations and there most certainly was a considerable dip during the covid years but these years are clearly outliers.

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yNot exactly. People are just becoming more and more selfish and self involved.
To most people, they're life is a movie in which they are the star. And everyone else merely supporting characters in that movie. As social media has grown peoples narcissism has only increased. You have these people taking pics of their lunch. Because they think people just NEED to see it. When these people do not get the adulation the feel the rightly deserve. They become depressed even angry.
There was a time women people went out into the world and made friends. People that had no social skills had to learn them. Now people stay at home and create a virtual world and make friends with other degenerates they meet from the internet. If these people do not fit narcissistic story then the just unfriend them and start over with a new person.

u 1 yIt sure seems like it. People are less connected and more polarized. They spend way too much time on their phones and at home streaming, rather than going out to parks and bars to meet people and make friends (and, most of all, churches... though they're not totally off the hook either).

1 yIt is. Particularly in western society. And it’s for a whole host of reasons.
Our digitized world is definitely a huge part of it. Social media, dating apps, porn, etc all have had a major negative impact.
But I also believe certain ideologies that encourage selfishness, unforgiveness and embracing your short term feelings as “your truth” is the bigger problem.
00 Reply 1.2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. No. Quite the opposite. The world population is increasing, not decreasing.
Fat, unhappy, lonely people are just getting louder, is all.

I can't believe your calling someone a moron when you let silly ass politicians determine if your happy or not. Then get an attitude when someone tell you how silly that shit sounds 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Anonymous(30-35)1 yonly western countries have unhappy people
non-western countries would be fine if western countries weren't constantly sticking their noses into their business, stealing resources, starting proxy wars, pushing woke ideology etc.
Africa and the Middle-East are very much against feminism and LGBTQIAP+ thus the west should learn to accept NO and stop finding bullshit reasons to undermine those governments *cough* "weapons of mass destruction in Iraq" *cough*

Why's that?
I find Turks uncouth and therefore they are not worth it.

But how will marrying someone help all these men overcome their loneliness?
