Are you going to watch the Olympic opening ceremony?

Nah, they used to interest me, but not so much anymore. Though I caught a little bit, and I thought the boat parade was a nice touch. Something different.
I used to watch it at night with my family when they would rerun it, this is the first time they're showing it live and it feels weird watching it in the middle of the day, 'cuz I like to do other stuff then.
Also, I lost even more interest when I heard Lady Gaga will be performing, and I briefly tuned in and some girl was singing "Belief". The Olympics are in FRANCE, so I think the performers should be FRENCH artists singing in FRENCH.
I heard it was a disgusting freak show
This one no it was weird but it does make sense to make it to represent France considering that drag queen and men dressed as women have been quite popular since a lot of years in Paris... It didn't shock me, Parisian culture is ways different from the countryside they're pretty 'depraved" if I can say and since century.
@alice55 Ehhhhhhhhhh! I didn't like it. A lot of people didn't like it. Some people, like my mom don't believe that it was parodying a different painting and not the "Last Super", even a lot of French people seems like.
I only read about that part online the next day, and I thought it was some kind of joke at first. I stand by my original comments, but I'm also kind of not surprised. But that's kind of the issue. People are disappointed that this is what French or I guess "Parisian" culture has become. And I guess you could see one of their penises.
I don't think they were paroding it really, their first appearance only made it look like it but that's it after they made some weird fashion show and then they got professional dancer to show different dance.
Parisian culture have always been depraved like this though, nothing news and in Italy the same, they were hundred of brothel everywhere in 15 century in Italy, etc...
Also in the 19 th you had Parisian women showing their panties in a dance and now they dance half naked in cabaret (but those doesn't seem to pose problem weirdly, etc...)
Those drag queen who danced come from Parisian Cabaret and those have been popular since century it's just that people do not know what Parisian culture is like they only imagine romance and Coco Chanel (though this one was a whore and a collabo but she's extremely loved by Anglo Saxon).
I mean there's a reasons why nobody like Parisian in France...
go look at the movie "La cage au folly" et "Ma femme s'appele Maurice" they're very old movie and there's drag queen in there / men dressed as women. It's not woke nothing to do with this it's just Parisian culture and have been since a very long time, it's just that apparently Anglo Saxon don't know about it. Weird because even Japanes / Chinese know about those stuff they love going to watch them.
When Chinese / Japanese come into France for their work / company French company bring them to Cabaret (so naked women and drag queen) and it amuse them greatly.
@alice55 I heard one of the dancers is getting was getting threats and insults because of it.
I don't know Alice, with so much woke propaganda now, it's hard to know people's true intentions. Especially since we had similar things in Eurovision. People used to wear drag for comedy not long ago, and I female roles used to be portrayed by male actors.
Yeah, like the Can Can. That's women though.
I don't know if I wanna look that movie up. XD
Damn. That last part.
But I understand what you're saying. This is honestly the best explanation I've read. You really put it into context. I knew I can always count on your expert knowledge of French culture XD
I'm glad you came on by the way. I was already missing you :)
So weird
Woke isn't big in France at all, it's just some random young people that talk about it and even they're considered as weirdo and bullied.
You should they're extremely funny the movie "Ma femme s'appel Maurice" is actually one of my favorite of all time XD
It's hilarious
I'm french after all and my family are Parisian on my dad side XD (so i know plenty about the Parisian culture though they left Paris cause it was a big mess, they weren't true Parisian, they came from Normandy and Corsica and their parent came to Paris to work but then they left it in the 80s cause it was becoming a huge mess).
^^
I was quite busy lately
@alice55 Not so weird considering people have had enough.
You may be right because I saw a video of a gay French guy with nail Polish in Quebec, he said in France people were always making fun of him, but in Quebec no one judged him.
Oh, it's a comedy. Okay, I trust you :) If I can find it for free with subtitles, I'll watch it. I already watched a few French films.
You are French, that is true XD I never knew you had Parisian roots. I didn't know you had Corsican roots either. I thought you don't like Corsica.
Yeah, I figured you were. I wanted to tell you some things, but now I'm feeling a bit apprehensive. I'm just glad you're here and we're talking now. I wasn't sure when I would hear from you again. I enjoy our talks so much.
I mean we don't have those kind of things in France only some in Paris so
It's good it's absolutely crazy but it's very good ^^
I don't like Corsica cause they don't like mainland French and it's my great great grandmother that is Corsican so it doesn't count anymore XD
If I went in Corsica and said oh my great great grandmother was Corsican they would cruse me XD
anyway even if you Corsican and your parent are too but you moved away from Corsica as a child and lived majority of your life on mainland France you're not considered as a Corsican anymore but as a traitor which is worse than a regular mainland French they're pretty extremist.
i will always comeback on this site I like it, I'm here since 8 years so
@alice55 Okay, good to know. It seems like every country/state always has that one weirdo city. Ours is San Francisco, though it's not the only one.
I'll look for it later.
I'm American, so to me it counts XD
LOL. If you came to America and said that they would say, "How cool." Or they would ask where that is. But Americans love to go back far in the family tree. There was one guy at my school, he claimed he was everything except Polish, German and Jewish but he found some Jew in him. It's funny, because Jew was the one I was certain he had, and he denied it for so long. Some girl said her parents only let her date Arabs and he said he's an Arab too. XD The guy had the Whitest name and look ever. XD
LOL. You might get mad at me for this, but I like Corsica. So does my dad. It may be our favorite island, though we've never been. But for a long time, it's the only part of France I wanted to visit. I still would like to visit some day.
Unless it closes. If you ever want to talk somewhere else too we can. I kind of prefer our private chats, because we can get more personal and connect more :)
If I'm honest, I mainly stay because of you, though it is a cool site too. I actually had a breakdown a few weeks ago and almost closed my account, but I just removed all my followers except YOU, but I'm starting to bring some of them back.
Well... Snoop Dogg is carrying the Torch; that'll be a sight to watch
But I have no TV, and I'll most likely forget about it and won't watch it on my PC
I hadn't even heard about it this time. I must be unplugged. Surprised redbull hasn't mentioned it on their recent listings. They are better.
Probably. I do hope there's a salute to napoleon in it.
A lot of its on boats this year and unrehearsed on the water. Things could go wrong

eh... no. my interest in the olympics was waning anyways. probably going to have some sort of satanic ritual during the ceremony. not interested.
I doubt it. Disappointed that it's in Paris this time around. A city hailed as so great but full of stuck up people and the air smells like pee all the time.
I would not know what's been happening at the Paris Olympics as I have not watched the 'opening ceremony' and I do not intend to watch any of the Paris Olympics at all!
I had to watch reruns because I've been busy.
I missed it... but I won't miss the track events
I did watch most of it, yes...
that was quite something... impressive
I should watch but I won't. I am looking forward to watching handball.
Nope
Ever since the Olympics went woke I quit
I did, i thought it was amazing, what did you think about it?
Oh no. It is in three hours at 3:30 am my time. 'll make do with the edited highlights. :)
I watched like 1 minut in total. I’m not interested in sports.
nope.
I could not care less about it or the games.
No, because you’re not going to one single event in your hometown so why should I?
Yeah.. and ofcourse as a proud French girl you won't miss a day without watching it lmao
Unfortunately, the Olympics (opening ceremony) has become just as bad and filthy as many other events, which are no longer watchable by good moral people
I will probably watch it later since I will be working….
It’s during work here. I’ll probably PVR it or watch the replay.
Never cared for the Olympics in my life. Nope.
Not planning to.
I will watch and record it.
nah, I am really not interested.
No, that's a waste of time in my opinion.
Missing it. At work.
I’ll be at work, but I’m recording it. 😊
I might catch the opening ceremony.
I did, it was too long and boring.
Nah. I'm gonna play video games.
No I'm not
When is it?
I will never watch that gag Lebron.
Fag.
No. Next question.
Maybe a recording
