What happened to the Russia-Ukraine war?

The last 2 years we've heard of this war non stop but this year its like it never happend, did it suddenly stop?

Russia has achieved some time ago what it had set out to achieve:

-Remove the growing threat on her border

-Annex Crimea; though this was not a goal prior to 2014

-'Liberate' Donbass and some other predominantly Ethnic Russian or Strategic Locations.

-Cut Ukraine off as a Transit Country for Russian 'Liquified Natural Gas'.

It's a war of attrition now. I am by no means 'Pro-something', I do oppose the Ukrainian government and I strongly feel that Ukraine itself is responsible for the outbreak of the war. NATO, the West as a whole, keeps pumping material into Ukraine to keep the absolute pointless continuation of this war going with the sole purpose of trying to break Russia. Russia won't break; more and more countries in the world are slowly stepping away from the US (Think BRICS) and, if they aren't already, might be willing to support Russia. Russia can keep going for longer, it is as simple as that. The West has started to lose interest already. Of course what's going in Palestine/ Israel is at the forefront of the International community's attention, but support for the war in Ukraine was already reducing and supply deliveries were already stalling. Russia doesn't have it easy, I am sure about that. It's absolute carnage, on both sides, but Russia will win... with thousands of people, on both sides, dead for practically nothing other than that Russia has ensured a threat has been removed from her borders. Ukraine will be of no use to the West, will not be allowed entry to NATO (some vague cooperation treaty could be signed though), EU entry will be put on hold again. Russia won't offer peace, Russia wants the Ukrainian government on it's knees 'begging for Mercy'. Ukraine has no choice but to surrender in order to stop this slaughter.

"Russia won't offer peace" Russia has offered peace, there was even a peace agreement mediated by Turkey and Israel, that was beneficial to Ukraine and ended the war in exchange for Ukraine remaining neutral instead of joining NATO. Russia doesn't want NATO/US missiles at it's boarders just like we didn't want soviet missiles in Cuba.

@llorando Of course Russia doesn't want NATO missiles on her border; but Russia does not need to occupy the whole of Ukraine to achieve that.

Part of Ukraine's significance to NATO is Crimea; that's where Russia's Black-Sea fleet is which can also operate in the Mediterranean. Crimea is now firmly in Russian hands. And then there's the linking up of Crimea to Russia over land.

For Russia this has all been a show of Force, while gaining some territory in the process, to send a warning to NATO that Ukraine will always be part of the Russian Sphere of Influence and that Russia more than capable to pursue her own interests.

This war could have been avoid had the US not been dead set on Ukraine joining NATO. In 2022 there was a peace agreement mediated by Turkey and Israel that would have ended the war, but we sent Boris Johnson over to sabotage it and talked Ukraine into continuing to fight knowing very well they couldn't win, but what do care, as long as defense contractors get to line their pockets.

No. The issue isn't the war, but the coverage. In 1980, 90% of American media was owned by just fifty companies. Given the size and scope of the country, that should cause concern. Today, that same 90% is owned by SIX companies. That should absolutely horrify you- if it doesn't, it's usually because you don't know about it, because the consolidated media don't talk about it.

The rest of the West is little better off. It's still an improvement on, say, China, but it's nowhere near where it should be.

The YouTube video is a news clip of Jeffery Sachs, who not only wared the war would happen, but explains pretty good how the US started war and Russia escalated. FYI, Ukraine's government is guilty of carrying out ethnic cleansing against Russian speaking Ukrainians, most notably, the Donbas region.

I never pivoted, my opinion has always been that both sides bare responsiblilty, US and NATO provoked the the war and Russia escalated it. It's no secret that in 2014 there was a civil and riots going on in Ukraine, and the government was guilty of bombing civilians in the Donbas region. I support neither Russia or Ukrainian government and don't buy into the propaganda the war is one sided and Russia just woke up one morning and decided to invade Ukraine. The war has been brewing since the fall of the Soviet when we promised not to move NATO to the east only to slowly move NATO to the east because it's profitable to defense contractors to have as many countries part of NATO as possible.

And the only reason it's happening is because the West refuses to accept any peace deal where Ukraine remains neutral, because Ukraine joining NATO is more profitable than remaining neutral. The war wouldn't be where it's at if the US has stopped being the world's police for once and sat on the sidelines and allowed Ukraine to accept the 2022 peace deal instead, but no, we talked Ukraine out of the peace deal and encouraged them to continue fighting knowing well they will not win.
