Is the problem of rape, sexual assault, pedophilia, and sex trafficking a political issue, or an everyone issue?

I ask this because I had a respondent to a prior question who said without a doubt it's only a problem for the right wing in the country.. When I had evidence to the contrary he failed to respond.

I personally believe it's a problem everyone needs to solve.

For some reason (cough cough) both political parties, aside from a few Repblicans, pretty much ignore it. And the DHS under the Biden administration has facilitated it.

It definitely depends. For example, a lot of pastors/preachers/popes are not to be trusted but their political party is irrelevant as their are untrustworthy “Christians” in both parties

From what I have seen society only screams for the punishment of the act. But it doesn’t seem like most people actually care to make a social change and prevent it in the first place, They only care about how the abuser gets punished.

I mean seriously we got all these people ether locked up in jail’s prisons and mental hospitals and psychiatrists and therapists have spent countless hours on figuring out why these people did what they did, And how they can prevent themselves from hurting more people in the future. But why haven’t we made a full commitment on preventing people from becoming that way in the first place. Why haven’t we taken all that information and use it to teach the new generations on how to not become that. Why don’t we teach these children how to look for the red flags in themselves and how to handle their own deviant sexual behaviors before they end up hurting someone. EDUCATION IS PREVENTION!!

It’s as if people can only see part of the problem. They can only see the fact that it is bad. Those who commit the crime are bad. It’s as if we believe the people who have committed such heinous acts are born bad. But that is not true. Only a tiny percentage of people are born “bad”.

If we as a society pushed the message saying ITS OKAY TO GET HELP AND FIX YOUR PROBLEMS BEFORE IT BECOMES SOMEONE ELSES! WE ARE HERE FOR YOU, AND HAVE THE RESOURCES TO HELP YOU. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Then I truly believe there would be less crime in general. Sure I’m certain in other types of crimes they do send that message like for those who are suicidal, drug addicts, poor and need help. But we don’t openly offer it for those who are sexually deviant. Instead we demand them to be “normal”. Well guess what not everyone is normal!
