Louisiana became the first state that can order child rapists to have their testicles removed if the victim is under the age of 13.
The law, which went into effect on Aug 1, only applies if the offender is older than 17 years old.
I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand I believe in eye for eye, tooth for tooth. But what happens if it's a false accusations? They would have just mutilated a guy for life for something he didn't do.
You really ought to provide a source and give context. (*) I'll do it for you but you forgot to mention something though; the castration is OPTIONAL. The felon can agree to it or opt out instead doing hard time.
So, what does the law say? The law, as written, targets offenders found guilty of aggravated sex crimes, including rape, incest or molestation against a child under 13. The punishment would be brought in certain cases and at a judge’s discretion and the surgery would be completed by a physician. It will also require a court-appointed medical expert to determine whether the offender is the right candidate for the surgery.
An offender could refuse to get the surgery, but would then be sentenced to three to five years of an additional prison sentence without the possibility of getting out early.
The law doesn’t allow anyone under 17 found guilty of certain aggravated sex crimes to receive the punishment.
This law is instantly unconstitutional under the 8th Amendment. Such a law would be immediately enjoined by any court in the United States once it is challenged.

OK, ALL laws are published so you should be able to find the actual law at a Louisiana state website and then give us the URL.

Unfortunately, not a single news source that I checked identified the law by its identification. That is fucking poor and irresponsible. Unfortunately, many get their stories from the AP (the Associated Press) and the AP should have done their job better.
However, one or more sources identified the bill's author: Regina Barrow, a member of the Louisiana Senate. The Louisiana State Government website permits search on bills including by author. Search on the author, I found the bill: 2024 SB 371. (SB as in "Senate Bill").
It's one thing if it's an individual to and individual. Like your saying eye for an eye tooth for a tooth. It's an individual transaction contract with recites.
It's transactional FAIR EQUAL PRICE. ONE TO ONE.
A government or state is not one individual. It is a collective and they can not operate as an individual. By being a larger collective they will always be and operate stronger then any individual could muster. So it must be more justice and operate at a higher standard.
Hypothetical of my child was raped and I ripped my child rapist testicles off that would be a fair and even offer trade. No different buying food from a store. Feel how gross that feels. It's making me twist and squirm.
Justice putting them away far away from anyone that they can hurt anymore. From the court hearings as a person is and will go anywhere else. You can fall asleep. It's over we can do what ever and it's done. It's never going to happen again. To be able to live life again. That's the aim of justice.
Even if true and I don't believe it is true, it serves no useful purpose. Instead, if the state has the girl's testimony AND if they have DNA proof, they should publicly hang the person, like they did in the 1800s. If the state does not have both or video evidence, it should be limited to prison because the man may be innocent.
I don't how to answer this without sounding like I'm minimizing something. My fear here would be where legislating something like this could lead. Are we going to start lobbing off other body parts for other offenses?
I'm pretty sure that I've been saying they SHOULD do this with rapists for a number of decades!! And NOT just with those that rape kids!! If you're not a responsible driver, don't they take your license away? If you're not a responsible gun owner, don't they take your life away? Why shouldn't they take your nuts away if you're not gonna use them responsibly? Maybe the risk of losing your nuts will stop them FROM raping in the first place!! However, if it was a statutory rape, where she instigated it, they SHOULDN'T cut `em off!
As long as there is no reasonable doubt the person did it. I think it would just take a few convictions and you would likely see those people committing crimes like that severely drop.
Once they know their balls are on the chopping block, it makes one reconsider.
I hate sex offenders as much as the next person but I dont know how to feel. i think its a bit too drastic. Maybe increase jail time coupled with harder labour or something

A law should describe the crime, not a specific punishment, though a law can provide guidelines. Punishment should be up to the judge, for each individual case.

No, she changed her mind later, there has to be solid collaborating evidence that he physically forced her.
No mercy for pedophiles, but I'm sure when I look at so many pedophilia scandals involving elites and catholic clergy in the past, it will be two tier prosecution.
Seems like the sort of law that will be challenged and deemed unconstitutional. Honestly, they'd have a much greater chance of being successful if they just gave the death penalty instead.
