The Democrat’s VP candidate for 2024 repeatedly on multiple occasions committed a federal crime by lying about his military service in violation of The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 claiming he had combat experience.

In fact, HE ABANDONED the men who served under him by dropping out of the National Guard to run for political office just as he was called to serve in combat. To this day the men who served under him are outraged that he abandoned them at that critical moment.

This guy is a FAKE, PHONY AND FRAUD!

President Trump in had more combat experience in Butler, PA than this phony liar.

It's the worst lie a politician can tell. Stolen Valor. Lying about serving in combat. Walz clearly dose it here and Walz is in violation of The Stolen Valor Act of 2013. Penalty: ONE YEAR in Prison.

In my country a member of parliament is disqualified if convicted of a crime with a sentence of one year or more. It doesn't matter what they actually get but the maximum sentence possible.

Do you guys have an equivalent disqualification rule? It would be very funny if you did.

No in the United States there is no requirement within the Constitution that disqualifies someone from serving in Congress even if they are a convicted felon.

However in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, they can be expelled by a vote of the other congressman or senators. In every case I know of where a congressman or senator has been convicted of a felony charge they have resigned their positions or been expelled by the other members. But there is no automatic expulsion requirement.

In our case, the qualifications in the constitution were very minimal but it gave parliament the power to legislate more fully which was done in the first Federal gov't and the one year or more rule was introduced then.

It was constitutional not to owe allegiance to foreign powers but back then when the Commonwealth was one big happy family being Canadian, English, Sottish etc was OK.

A Parliamentarian had been operating an insolvent business which could have been a 2 year sentence. That refreshed people's minds that the UK and other nations were foreign powers now.

So seven Parliamentarans were immediate disqualified including the Deputy Prime Minister (our VP). Fun times indeed.

I did hear an interview with one of the soldiers who reported to him and he said they thought he was a coward and that they were extremely disturbed that he abandoned them like that that critical time.
